I walk up to the small corner store, immediately questioning this idea I have.
I mean we would share it, but it would always be at my house.
So if he doesn't want it at all I can just say it's for me.
There. There's the push I needed to get this. I've always wanted one, so why not get one now. It's not that big of a step right?
Besides if this goes bad I can always return him.
Yes him.
I look over in the store to the small golden retriever mix, he's the last one left.
The lady says it's because of his eyes, he has heterochromia, his eyes are two different colors. Most people think that makes a dog crazy, but who says you can't just try it out?
I sign the papers, and the stores personal contract that says I will do my best to give him the best care there is. I would do that without the contract.
I think he can tell that it's him I'm here for, or maybe he's just excited to see something new, but he jumps up on the small glass window that shields him from me.
As soon as I get him in my arms, he cuddles into my arms. This is the best decision I've ever made.
-
Coming home I realize this might be the worst decision I've ever made.
I didn't think about how puppies aren't trained very well, and I don't want to have to clean up shit all of the time.
Let me look at how much a dog trainer is later.
He's also around 9 months old, I could call the store and see what they did with bathroom time.
"He uses puppy pads or he will go outside. I can almost guarantee he won't inside the house. He was here for a while so I thought it would be nice for his owner to not have to train him. Also it's funny, when he's hungry he will stand on his back legs, I do not know why."
Thank god. That phone call was like my life line that makes this 1000x easier.
I'll add puppy pads to my shopping list.
I'm gathering the boys toys and fixing his bed, which will be in my room, when I hear the door open.
Oh my fuck, I completely forgot about Alana.
"Hey, oh my gosh finally you're home I need to," she pauses, and looks down to the god sitting right next to my feet.
"Need to tell you something," she looks back up at me. Her tone turns a little less playful.
-
"What? Why are you moving out!" I say very confused. This seems all of a sudden.
"Well if you were ever home I'd be able to tell you this. The night we went to the club, you found a man right? But so. Did. I." She got very squeaky and excited saying that.
"So you're moving in with him? Alana it's been like 5 months sense that night. Have you met his family? Friends?"
It does sound like I'm being bitchy. But number one, she's my best friend. Probably the only one have have, that's not romantic obviously. And number two this has happened before and it ended horribly for her.
She's quiet, so I take a chance to say something else, "and I'm filling your spot this time." I look up at her, she's shocked.
If she's so sure about this guy, I shouldn't have to pay extra rent in case it goes south.
