(Y/n is Steve Harrington's younger sister and Eddie can't seem to stay away from her)

(Also, pretend that Steve is still in high school and still kind of a douche.)

I watched as the clock ticked slower each time I looked, bored out of my mind in 3rd block. The day wasn't even over and I still had one class left before I could even go home and I was fed up.

Before I could continue to complain about my day to myself, a movement in the seat next to me stops my train of thought. I see an arm reaching for a pencil that was at the edge of my desk and I look up to see the familiar face of Eddie.

He meets my gaze, looking up at me which causes the pencil to fall. The sound of the pencil dropping breaks our eye contact and he goes to reach it off the floor.

"I'm sorry, I just needed a pencil." He apologizes, holding the pencil in front of me to give it back. "It's okay, keep it." I wave my hand to motion the pencil away, giving him a reassuring smile. He quickly thanks me before opening a black journal with his Hellfire Club logo on the cover.

15 minutes later, the dismissal bell goes off, a swarm of students already leaving. I get up to swing my bag over my shoulder to follow right behind everyone.

When grabbing for my English book, Eddie comes out from behind my locker. I see him out the corner of my eye and slightly jump at his unexpected presence. He just laughs and holds his hands up in defense.

"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." I sigh, looking ahead before letting a small laugh fall past my lips. "No, it's ok. You just..surprised me." I shake my head, closing my locker to lean against it and fully face Eddie.

"Uhm- Y/n, right?" He asks, not quite sure if he guessed correctly. "Yeah. Eddie right?" I jokingly respond. He laughs genuinely, clearly catching on to my sarcasm. I can feel a smile of my own begin to etch my face. His laugh was angelic, almost like music to ones ears. I liked it.

"So, did you want something?" I ask him after a few seconds of silence. He shrugs his shoulders, tucking his hand in his back pocket before pulling out the pencil I had lent him earlier.

"I guess I just wanted to give this back." He says. My brows pinch. Why would he take all this time to give a pencil back? To be honest, he should've just kept it.

"I never needed it, you can keep it, really." I push the pencil back against his chest, assuring him. He looks down at my hand over his. I immediately pull back, heat flushing my face. "Sorry." I apologize.

"It's fine." He lightly smiles. Seconds go by as we stand in uncomfortable silence before I break it with small talk. " So, what were you writing in that journal?" I ask curiously, pointing towards the black notebook that hung at his side.

He brought it up to his face, flipping through the pages. He stops and looks at a certain one before closing it. "Just some sketches for our new Hellfire t-shirts." He shrugs.

"Oh, I'm invested now." I laugh, trying to reach for the journal in his hand. He chuckles, pulling the arm that was holding the notebook, back. I fall forward, placing both my hands on his chest to stop myself from falling on him. He stops laughing, quickly grabbing my waist to support me if I fell.

Just then, my older brother and his group of friends walk by. Steve notices how close we are and stops in his tracks. "Hey, Munson!" He yells from across the hall. This catches both mine and Eddie's attention.

"Stay away from my sister, freak." He insults. I roll my eyes at his rude commentary while Eddie just smiles. "Can't make that a promise, Harrington." He winks, his smile smug. Steve gives him a look before walking off to class with his friends. Once they're gone, I look back up at Eddie, finally realizing just how close we actually are.

I take a couple steps back, creating a good distance between the two of us. "I apologize for my brothers insolent remarks." I look down at my feet, embarrassment taking over. "Eh, it's fine. I've heard worse." I begin to feel bad as I start to remember how people treat him on a daily basis.

"Anyways, we better get to fourth block. Maybe we can meet somewhere after school and I can show you my sketches." He slyly suggests. I flash a smile before nodding my head. "We can meet at Lovers Lake. It's a place I like study at." I admit.

"Lovers Lake, huh?" His eyebrow quirks up in amusement. "Oh, shut up." I push his shoulder in playful annoyance. "I'll meet you in the parking lot after school then?" I beam, giving him a nod and waving as he walks off to his last class.
