A new beginning

(Max's POV)
I sat in the car looking out of the backseat of my stepdads car.Billy my stepbrother is arguing with my mom or we'll 'our' mom EVEN though biologically she's mine! I guess I zoned out because when Neil turned around I got a fright startling me out of my 'state' as mom calls them. Neils face is blood red and he yells at billy really loud forcing billy to apologize to my mom who says that it's fine thank god nothing else happens.

We arrive at Hawkins and as soon as I step outside the car I pull my black oversized hoodie closer to me I didn't know it would be so cold here at Hawkins and I see a group of boys. 4 to be specific and a girl she didn't have very long hair it looked a bit like a boys. walking past staring at me and my 'family' one has jet black hair and pale skin another has blonde curly hair same skin color and another blonde pale boy this one seemed less extroverted though he seems very timid against the other boisterous boys but the last one catches my eye more than I'd like to admit he had dark skin and very cool hair unlike the other dark haired boy.

We finally moved all the boxes in and billy and Neil started making my new bed my rooms a lot smaller than my old so is our house before back in California I had a 3 story house along with a massive bedroom on the top floor along with my parents and little sibling I could go up on the roof without anyone knowing seeing as I'm the oldest.

I convinced my little brother James and sister lily to stay with our dad and I would go with mom and 'scary other daddy' as lily called him another reason I volunteered instead of them as I knew mom wouldn't want to be away from all 3 of her kids even though she cheated on my dad I plan talking with my dad weekly at least to maybe prepare him for when I run away. Run back to him we could stay in hiding for a bit maybe 2/3 days just until my mom looses focus and I can go back to my life in Cali as the popular,smart,skating boarding,pretty girl who doesn't need a boyfriend or girlfriend (that's right bitches IM BIIII)

I decided it would be best to leave billy and Neil to their own arguments so I skated down to the arcade there was about 15 back in Cali but I guess this works to I called to my mom 'I'm going out' 'okay honey be back by dinner!' 'Okay byeeeee' I yelled racing out the door happy Neil couldn't dampen my plans

I got there and it was your average arcade it had your average arcade feel and vibe there was a guy working there who had a name tag 'Keith' I decided to go up to him 'um hi...Keith?' I practically whispered all the same he turned around and looked at me with a bag of chips and dust pouring from his fingers he wasn't very good looking with acne covering his face 'yeah what's up?' He asked he doesn't have a very masculine voice either? 'Um I was um wondering if you uh have um dig dug' I stuttered 'yep just there' he pointed

I walked over to it thankful to be away from that guy he gave me weird vibes I entered my name and 'madmax' and played for hours 75100 points A NEW HIGH-SCORE I hadn't even gotten that back in Cali I turned around satisfied with my victory and it was pitch black outside 'shit' I mumbled grabbed my skateboard and skating back as fast as possible almost falling like 17 times never actually falling though

As I got back I closed the door and heard a faint 'your late' 'ummm hello?' I questioned the air 'your late' the voice said louder I still couldn't quite figure out whose voice it was yet 'YOUR LATE!' The voice no longer needed me to guess it as Neil plunged out front the darkness and pushed me to the floor I started apologizing profusely but that didn't stop him as he hurt be over and over again until he was finally done he stalked off back to the darkness of him and my moms room I wanted to stay there but decided it would be better to go back to my room and saw my bed Assembled as was my desk,wardrobe and set of drawers but there were still boxes I found the one that I packed my pajamas in and quickly got changed took some clothes from another box and laid them out and repeated this for a while until finally found blue jeans and a red hoodie for school tomorrow I hope not many people notice me I creep into bed careful not to make any noise and fall sleep

I'm awoken by my alarm clock going crazy I groan and slide out of bed taking a quick shower and getting changed I quickly eat some cereal and wait for billy to finish getting ready I hope this really is a 'new beginning' like mom and Neil told us they wanted a fresh start and adults always get what they want so hopefully this has no difference
