Hi everyone! This story will have cursing, but that's pretty much it! I hope you enjoy and thank you so much for reading :)
.....................................................................
It had been 6 months since the Fitz's divorce had been finalized and Valerie hadn't seen her father or brother since then. Mallory Rodriguez, previously Mallory Fitz, had been under the influence that dating apps were the only way to "get out there". Even while Jeremy Fitz and her were married, she was definitely "out there".

The car came to a halt and suitcases in the trunk jumped up. "What is wrong with you, bitch!" Mallory shouted at a driver who almost crashed into the car.

"Mom, you seem... tense. Does this have anything to do with seeing dad again?"

"No, it does not, but I appreciate the concern."

Mallory gripped onto the steering wheel and made a sharp left turn. Valerie sighed and observed the sights outside her window. The car ride from Nevada to California had only been about 4 hours and she was looking forward to stretching her legs.

Valerie whipped open the car door and ran to hug her father. He stubbled back. "Woah kiddo, did you grow?" Jeremy smiled. "Just another inch. Nothing special," she smiled as she always did. She had long, wavy, brown hair and fare skin which made her look older for her young age of 16. Valerie had the tendency to always look perfect no matter what.

Valerie looked over her father's shoulder. "Stevey!" Valerie practically jumped into her twin's arms. He wrapped his arms around her. Oh boy, I missed you lil sis," She playfully nudged him with her arm and rolled her eyes. She normally got annoyed with him calling her 'lil sis' considering he was only 3 minutes older, but this time she was honestly happy to hear it.

Mallory stepped out of the car and stepped on to the sidewalk. Jeremy nodded at her and plastered a tiny, not to mention fake , smile on his face. He walked into the backyard, leaving Mallory alone in the front.

"How has dad been.. you know, dealing with everything?" Val asked while looking through the pantry.

"He's still adjusting, but i don't think he's fully wrapped around his mind that mom.." He paused and looked at his sister.

"Cheated on him. Yeah, I don't even think she registered what's she's done either. She is on dating apps though," Valerie smirked.

"I'm glad you're with us this summer, Val."

Thank you everyone for reading!! I honestly do not like writing an intro for books because i never know what to say, but i promise you once we start getting into it, you'll hopefully love it. This is kind of like a pilot to see how this story goes, but all goes well, the second chapter will be out in no time!! <33
