CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE.
・・・・・・・・・・・・
GISELLE MOREAU LEARNED THAT SHE HAD A SIXTH SENSE EVER SINCE THAT FATEFUL NIGHT, she knew when she was watched, and she knew when someone was following her. She was a trained assassin who knew how to divert a situation, how to save herself from compromising situations. All those situations were illegal ⎯ until that day. Some days, she found herself hating the job Billy gave her back, those days were where she would spend hours on unnecessary papers. Sometimes she loved her job, when she had to watch Billy train with his employees ⎯ that's only because she'd watch his back muscles stretch, it was a good sight.
But sometimes, the job just bites her back in the ass.
She was sitting calmly in her office, rolling her eyes at Marcel's attempt as sending her 'funny' memes. She considered blocking him one of those days.
So when her sixth senth began pulsing, it didn't take so long for her to no longer be alone. Feeling like her skin was crawling, and her heart was heavy in her chest cavity.
Giselle raised her head slowly, only to be met with a pair of unmatched eyes.
She stood up abruptly, and for a second she forgot that she was Gigi Mosadek.
William Rawlins stood in the middle of her office.
"Mr. Rawlins," she started, smothering her beige pencil skirt.
"Ms. Mosadek," he retorted, a small smile appearing on his face. "I have an important meeting with Mr Russo, can you be a darling and postpone any call to his office?"
She stood speechless for a second, clearing her throat, and wearing a neutral expression. "I'm sorry Mr. Rawlins, those are orders I receive only from Mr. Russo. I need direct orders for him to do so."
William Rawlins was annoyed. And intriged. He never met any of Billy's assistants who refused his orders.
"I wasn't asking, Ms. Mosadek." his tone was firm, smaking his lips in a thin line.
Giselle took a second to consider his words at first. She tilted her head to the side, but made sure to keep eye contact with him. She needed to stand her ground.
She took her desk phone, and started dialing a number.
"What is it?" came the voice of Billy at the other end.
"Mr. Rawlins is here to see you, do I need to postpone any meeting?" She asked, without breaking eye contact with Rawlins.
She could hear Billy take a sharp breath. And a second passed before he finally responded. "Yes. Do it."
"Of course Mr. Russo." she retorted, she pressed the button and hang up before addressing the man who was subtly glaring daggers at her. "You can go in Mr. Rawlins, I'll make sure no one bothers you in your meeting."
