CHAPTER NINE.

⎾NEW YORK CITY ⏋
THIS MORNING IN PARTICULAR WAS A COLD ONE, the seasons were shifting the wind leaving behind a cold bite at the end of her pink tipped nose as she walked down the street. It was known that Giselle wasn't a huge fan of the winter because she never liked being cold. She wasn't fan of wearing coats and layers, she preferred the dresses and tank tops. Pulling on the hoodie she was wearing, she made sure to hide her face everytime she ventured outside. As she stepped inside the small cafe the familiar ding of the bell overhead rang throughout the small place, she let a sigh of relief and removed her hoodie exposing the still healing busted lip, she still kept cap and tugged on it slightly as she made her way to the corner of the small place, placing herself slowly on the red colored seats.
"Morning Layla," greeted a voice that made her head snap slowly. She was greeted by the usual server who held a small smile on her face. "right on time as usual."
Giselle grinned lightly spotting her pre-made tea. "You know me so well, Tessa."
The woman laughs softly and walks over closer to put the tea on the table. "What is your pick today? Let me guess baked eggs?" she suggested, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Give me your best pancakes." she shook her head. Her mind swerves back to the time when Billy used to cook her pancakes at mornings after their intimate session of legs in the air.
"Right away." responds Tessa and disappears back from where she came leaving behind the brunette sitting in her favorite window seat.
She leaned back into her seat and became lost in her thoughts, not even noticing the ring of the bell as more people came into the cafe. It's been exactly two months now since the masquerade party, two months since she's been on the run again. It was impossible to leave the city, knowing Billy he already had so many contacts that she was sure that he wouldn't hesitate to put her face on a poster in the streets and put money on her head. Two months since she exposed herself not only to Billy but also so Silas Altman. She knew that him knowing about her meant the whole Cabal recognized her now. It's been also two months since she disappeared on her friends, ever since that night. She let them fall in the arms of twilight sleep and she ran, she ran like hell. She was too lost in her thoughts she didn't even see that Tessa delivered her pancakes and left her to herself.
The ring of the bell brought her back to reality as she watched a man hold the door for a woman. Narrowing her eyes slightly she caught sight of the small badge that was attached to both their belts. They both stepped inside the little place that was so called a cafe, they looked to be well paid enough to encounter some much better places than the small cafe they stepped in, but there was a home essence to this place that drove people in.
