you and your mom were gonna go to the new mall that was a few minutes away from your house, you were excited because you had heard good things about the mall and because you had the opportunity to catch up with your mom after months.

you walked in with your mom and it was huge, you saw food courts, nail salons, makeup stations, and so much more. you and your mom decided to pick up food from the built in cafe, then get your nails done. you and your mom walked in and ordered, upon finishing the waitress asked "will that be all for you lovely ladies?"
"yes ma'am thank you for the amazing service" your mom replied back.
the waiter left and your mom sparked a conversation while you both waited.
"so y/n how have you been doing?" your mom grabbed your hand.
"i've been okay, i've been kickin it with friends more, going into work more, studying up on my careers after college, and stuff like that! how have you been mom?" you asked her.
"very busy. but i don't have to go back in for another week so i'm glad i get to spend time with you honey." she smiled.
"me too mom" you reassured her.
"soooo do you have a boyfriendddd" she teased.
"no, i try to focus on school and my life i'm not concerned with being with anyone" you lied.
of course you wanted to tell your mom about you and connie, although he wasn't your boyfriend he sure did act like it. you just didn't wanna tell her too soon and be bombarded with questions about him, her wanting to meet him, and when is he coming around, it was too much for you.
"well i'm glad your focusing on the right thing hun" she rubbed your hand.
"me too" you smiled.
the waitress brought out your orders and drinks and walked away. you ordered a chocolate filled croissant with a coffee and your mom ordered a coffee with a strawberry jam filled scone, the conversation continued as you two walked to the nail salon part of the mall and ate.
"how are mira and jae doing?" your mom asked.
you stopped chewing at her question, you cleared your throat before answering. "uhm mira is good i just talked to her earlier, but i haven't spoken to jae we've both been busy lately." you said while continuing to chew.
"that's good! i miss them, you should invite them over tonight" your mom excitedly said.
"i think they work today mom" you lied.
your mom nodded understandingly and said "okay maybe next time".
you awkwardly took a sip of your coffee and exhaled.
"okay go sit under the dryer right over there" the lady pointed. you and your mom were at the nail salon getting mani-pedis and an eyebrow wax, while your toes were sitting under the dryer you could hear your mom do quiet yelps from across the room. after you both finished up you headed back home.
"it feels so good to be back home, i love it" your mom let out.
"yesss" you agreed.
"what do you want for dinner hun?" your mom asked you.
"is chicken parm good?" you asked.
"yeah i'll start on it right now baby" she said.
"thank you mommy" you replied as you hugged her and went upstairs.
you turned on your tv and turned on some cartoons, eventually it was just background noise while you online shopped for the new upcoming school year. you finished shopping after 30 minutes and your mom came and got you for dinner. you fixed your plate and sat across from her.
"this is really good mom" you said while nodding your head.
"thank you!" she said while smiling.
you let out an "mmhm" sound and sparked a conversation, "sooo hows anthony?" you asked.
anthony was a guy your mom was interested in at work, they worked alongside each other and even went out on a couple of dates.
"he's good! we're planning to go out soon" she said excitedly.
"that's good omg!!" you said. "have you thought about any places?"
"yeah, it's out of town though, it's called "Rochelle's" and it's very fancy."
