.
"Have we met before?"

"Trust me, no."

"Why?"

"Because this is not how we would've met again."

He chuckled and turned to face the long que ahead of us. Well he was taller than a tower and with his broad shoulders left me to have a peek from the side. People in the que didn't seem to be bothered somehow. As if it was obvious that it would take them a lightyear to get a seat.

I glanced back at my watch, for what would count for a third time in the last five minutes. Samuel should've been here by now, standing beside me and resenting to stand in for such a boring and agonizingly long waiting. Just like me.

They say opposites attract but i believe they break apart soon, coz in the end both end up resenting each other, after having opened up to flaws and insecurities. There has to be an understanding, the feeling of empathy to accept the other. So, in order to finally have a proper relationship, i found someone just like me.

"Hey, Sam, where are you?" I heard the rattling of dishes from the background when he cleared his throat and moments later the noise silenced.

"Ey, sorry babe but I'm stuck in traffic. There's been an accident ahead and the jam looks like it'll last longer."

"Ah, guess what? I'm stuck in a que, a lot of people decided to show up at the restaurant today, before time,"

"Unlike others." I made it a point to keep it low. I wouldn't want to look like the bitchy girlfriend.

"Oh.... oh, that's bad.... How bout we plan it some other day. I bet you'd have more productive things to do that wait for a que."

"Yea ok." I cut the line before having to hear from him. The line moved ahead by a step and inhaled a deep breath to follow.

"Umm, I don't want to sound nosy, but.. you seem a bit upset..?" The black haired guy turned behind, eyeing me down.

"Why does it matter to you?" I felt all the anger i could in the moment.

"Because you look more pretty when you're smiling," He bent down to my eye level, leaning pretty closer than one would expect.

"or when observing small babies yawning in their tramp." His eyes pinched as he smiled and shifted back when the que moved ahead.

I decided not to say anything ahead, maybe it was my inability in the moment to make any sound possible. Boy got just the right moment to flirt.

I pulled out my earphones and plugged in to hear some music. I didn't know why the hell was i even standing in the que when my date just cancelled upon me. Hell do i have more productive things to do than spend a night with a liar. I made a mental note to use that the next time we argue.

The que kept moving forward while I listened to random pop songs to keep my mind busy. The boy in front of me wouldn't stop stealing glances at me, smiling now and then. At a point, i was starting to get irritated by his looks.

Upon my turn, i pulled the cords out to take a seat for myself. I could give myself a treat afterall.

"A table for two sir," The shoulder guy informed and moved aside to stand just two steps ahead of me.

"A table for one." I informed but the blonde man eyed me, looking back and forth from the page in his hand.

"Im sorry we're busy today, no less than two for a table." I clutched the sling of my purse.

"But my date just stood me up, what do you expect me to do?" I felt my chest heaving with air.

"Leave." He stated as if a matter-of-factly while continuing to look back at the que.

"This is not how you treat a customer! You're literally denying your service!"

He placed the page down on his little wooden desk and sighed.
"Listen lady, I've got a whole line waiting for my service. Do you think I would care?"

I could sense the air huffing out of my ears feeling such anger that I decided to swear at the big old blonde.

Such a waste in humanity! I left the restaurant, feeling defeated and exhausted. Standing on heels for the last two hours didn't really help with all the humble me that i was supposed to be in public.

I sighed and walked to the riverside for a quick cool down before i head back home. I felt defeated by my love, I felt defeated by my patience and i felt defeated by my worklife. The feeling just keeps burdening me each passing day.

"Hi!" The shoulder guy sat next to me and i couldn't help but snort how adamant he was to have his way.

"Here." He handed me the packets and placed the coffee cups in between.

"What the hell are you doing here!? I have a boyfriend. Don't you see that i don't have any fucking interest in you!?" I snapped, pretty intense that his assumed ever glowing face went pale.

I covered my eyes with my palms, wanting this day to get erased from my memory, forever. But i guess there ain't no system like that.

"They kicked me out coz I got stood up too."

He sipped on his coffee while keeping his eyes at the flowing water along the sparkling city.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be so harsh."

"I can see you're having a bad day," The packet smelled delicious and I've been on an empty stomach all this while. And just on cue, he pulled out two warm hamburgers and handed me one.

"Thanks." I took a bite and leaned back on the bench.

"There's something i can do to make your day a tiny bit better," He turned to me with a mischievous smile.

"you wanna know how?" He smirked.

He looked more cute than overly flirty, which is what I think he was aiming for.

"Of course."

He pulled out his phone and started typing something. I dared to take a peek and let myself get amsued by what it was.

"What!? You're a food critic!?" I laughed, more astonished by the review he was writing for the restaurant.

"You're gonna pull that place down."

He looked up with a sly smile on his face.
"He dared to kick out such a beautiful lady, ones gotta pay for his mistakes."

"Are you seriously doing that just because he kicked me out?" I folded my hands over chest.

"Partly no, because he even kicked me out when I pretended being stood up after cancelling on my colleague. They're just not worth a review, you know?"

He smirked and I couldn't help but chuckle about how spontaneous he looked with his actions.

"So, coming back to our date," He put his phone aside and sipped from the cup.

"Wanna talk about your bad day?"

"You're one of a kind" To which he laughed and listened intently for the whole night. Not a very bad day i guess.
