Violet.
I fluttered my eyes open to find an open spot next to me. I was expecting to see Harry, but he was no where to be seen. Oh shit. Either he left, or he's downstairs...with my mum. I jumped out of bed, and ran downstairs as fast as I physically could.
I smiled at the sight of Harry with my mum, casually making pancakes and eggs. My mum looked up and saw me.
"Good morning."
Shocked, I replied as I walked down the stairs.
"Morning..."
I walked down and sat down at the table.
"Harry was explaining how he got a call from you last night, and slept on the couch to make sure that you were all right," she explained, "are you okay?"
Harry smirked at me as I looked at him.
"Yeah, I'm alright. Just a bit shocked is all."
"Don't worry, we are going to contact the police and let them know what's going on. They might have an idea of who this might be. But whoever it is, is a sick person. We're going to find him, don't worry." She comforted me.
I nodded in response.
"I'll finish making breakfast, but you guys should be getting ready for school."
"It's Saturday, mum." I laughed.
She face palmed.
"Am I seriously that out of it?"
"Well, I guess so."
"Okay, forget that. Want to help us finish up?"
"Sure."
My mum was making the eggs, the easy part, so I decided to help Harry make the pancakes. I stood beside him, putting some of the dough onto the hot pan. I looked at him, and saw he was already looking at me. I quickly looked away, my cheeks flushing in embarrassment.
"Eggs are done." My mum announced.
"The pancakes are nearly done." Harry replied.
I flipped the three over, seeing that the bottoms were golden. I carefully took them off of the pan, and set them onto a plate where three others lay. I brought the syrup and butter over to the table, and sat down in between my mum and Harry.
"So," she paused, "I really think we should go down to the police department and find out who this stalker is."
I sighed.
"I don't think they'll do anything over one phone call. Maybe if things increase, then we can get the police involved."
"But what are you going to do whenever I'm gone? I don't know that I can work late shifts knowing that there could be a creeper out there."
"Oh come on, you are hardly ever gone." I rolled my eyes playfully.
She cleared her throat nervously before speaking.
"About that um," she fiddled with her fingers, "I need to tell you something."
I nodded, signaling to continue.
"I was informed by my boss that I will be flying out to New York for two weeks. I have to get some training."
"No way, all the way in New York?" My jaw nearly dropped to the floor.
"Yeah. But I don't want to leave you here alone, especially with what happened last night-"
"Mum I'm 18, I don't need a babysitter-"
