We got to Starcourt Mall and walked off the bus, we stop for a sec as el looked up at the sign. "What's wrong?" I asked concerned and look over to her.
"To many people?" She said in a question like way.
"Against the rules?" El said looking over to max.
"Seriously?" Max asked smiling "you have super powers, what's the worst that could happen?" ( well I wonder 🥲 )
We all walked in holding hands as to not get lost and then stopped right in the middle of the mall, El was looking around at everything in aw as I laughed slightly at how exited she looked.
"What do you wanna do now?" Max said.
"You've never been to a mall before have you?" I asked as she looked back to us.
" well then I guess we're just going to have to try everything"
max smiled as el was still looking around excitedly.
"Ooh come on!" Max said grabbing our hands and running towards "the gap". As we walked in el was looking around and touching the different shirts and clothing before stopping in front of a blue shirt.
"Do you like it?" I asked her.
" how do I know what I like?" El said confused.
"You just try things on, until you find something that feels like ... you." Max said pausing slightly before saying "you".
"Like me?" El looked at us both back and forth.
"Yeah," Max said.
"Not Hopper" I added
"Not mike." - max
"You." I said as I could practically see her eyes light up.

We had been trying on clothes and outfits for about an hour or so now, this was probably the happiest moment I've ever had in my life as we all tried on stupid hats and glasses and took pictures and stuff, I didn't want to ever leave that moment of just happiness and loving life hanging out with your girlfriend and one of your Best friends and having them both get along was great, until it wasn't.
One of the store workers (Amy) ran up to my and said that my mom called and needed to talk to me. (My mom and Amy where friends so she practically told my mom anything I ever did if she say it happen.
"Sorry guys one second" I said as I walked into the staff room and picked up the phone off the wall.
"Hey mom what's up?" I said.
"Where are you?"
"I'm just at the mall we were running out of stuff for the bathroom." I lied calmly saying it as if I was telling the truth.
"Oh, well could you stop at the corner store before you come home, I need bread,milk,and eggs."
"Sure, what time do I need to be home?" I asked hoping I could stay out longer since it really wasn't that late.
"I would prefer now please I have to pack my lunch for work tomorrow and I need to leave earlier then normal" she said prefer but when my mom says prefer it means you don't have a choice your coming home now.
"Okay, I'll be home soon then." I said almost out of the clear.
"Oh, and y/n" she asked.
"Yeah?"
