The ringing of the school bell broke him from the trance he had subconsciously fallen into. Sighing, he began packing up his stuff, pausing to remember what he thought about, but couldn't seem to grasp it. Kuroo wasn't one to zone out, especially not in class, his grades were something he valued, and the only way to achieve those high marks was to listen and write notes in all classes that required bookwork, and on top of that was several hours of studying. "Oi Kuroo! you good?" Yamamoto asked while popping his head into the third year's classroom. "Huh? oh hey Yamamoto, yeah I'm fine don't worry" the taller replied, walking out of the classroom towards the gym, followed by the 2nd year.
The walk there was silent, considering the two of them were some of the most extroverted people in the entire school, especially Kuroo who had learned not to ignore people after some fans got pissed that he brushed them off so easy. That's the one thing he hated about his looks, it seemed almost everyone wanted to be with him, verbal fights often broke out between groups of girls who all claimed Kuroo to be their boyfriend, that was far from true, the poor boy had never even spoken to them.
"Hey Kuroo-senpai, you okay?" Yamamoto asked, seemingly put off by the awkward silence. "yea, sorry just got a lot on my mind at the moment". That wasn't far from the truth, he did have a lot going on, with the spring tournament right around the corner and graduation not long after, there was so much to do. After five more minutes of Kuroo lost in his thoughts and Yamamoto fidgeting they finally arrived at the gym, Yamamoto not wasting a second to rush inside and find Inuoka and talk about everything that happened to him that day, Kuroo on the other hand glanced over to where Kenma was calmly playing on his phone. Seeing the blonde so peaceful made Kuroo's heart flutter, he knew why, he had come to terms with it a while back, a simple hangout turned into the black-haired male realising his feelings through a simple gesture, a hug.
As you could imagine, practice was just the same as ever, the meaning of 'quiet' long forgotten much to Kenma and Shibayama's annoyance, the two just wanted a somewhat peaceful yet productive practice for a change. One glance at Kuroo wiping his forehead with his shirt was all it took for Kenma's unchanging demeanour to break, a light but noticeable pink dusting his cheeks did not go unnoticed by some. Yaku and Yuki glanced at each other, obvious they were both thinking the same thing, however the pair ignored it since they knew it was none of their business. Kenma on the other hand knew the two figured something out but was glad they didn't question him about it, although the boy didn't mind talking to them, personal feelings were not something that came about as an easy topic.
Not long after the team split into two groups, playing a five-on-five game. Kuroo, Kenma, Shibayama, Lev and Inuoka on one team. Kai, Yaku, Yamamoto, Fukunaga and Teshiro on the other. Kenma groaned, being paired with Lev was not an easy task with the tall boy often missing spikes, he would make it work and if not, he would just set to Kuroo and Inuoka. The title of "Nekoma's brain" was not overexaggerated, Kenma new how to adapt to everyone's playing style, he knew there strong points, weak points, anything that was vital to the game.
"Lev if you miss more than three times I won't set to you for the rest of the game" "GAH! Kenmaaaa" "Lev that's enough, stop yelling, plus it's Kenma who gets to make the call" Kenma turned to look behind him only to see Kuroo with his arms folded while glaring at the Russian "Thanks Kuroo..." And with that they started the game, Yamamoto serving first.

"Hey Kenma?" Kuroo approached him while the folding up the net "do you wanna go to the games store later? It's my cousins birthday soon so I was gonna get her a game, I know you wanna get a new game as well" Kenma's eyes lit up at the mention of the games store, he'd been wanting to go there for weeks but due to assessments, didn't get the chance to go. "yes". The taller boy chuckled, he already knew what the answer would be, but thought it best to still ask.
