-Chapter 26: Confessions-

Seth slammed down shot glasses on the table and poured 5 before sitting down next to Anna. He pushed one to Scott, Jacob, Kate and lastly Anna.

"Not for me." Jacob said, pushing his away. "Not for them." He pushed Scott's, Kate's and Anna's away. Technically, Anna is old enough to drink alcohol. One of the many blessings of being 21.

"Relax, Red Ryder." Seth said, pushing the shot glasses back to the 4. "These buckaroos earned their bonus. So did you. Drink up."

"Dad, can we?" Scott asked, a bit excited.

"Absolutely not." Jacob protested as he gave Seth back his shot.

"Aw, come on, Pops." Seth said, putting his left hand on the back of Anna's chair before picking up his shot with his empty hand. "We're a band of brothers now. Cross the desert, didn't even need Omar Sharif." He downed the shot.

"As I recall, he killed a man for drinking out of the wrong well." Jacob said.

"Yep." Seth said, pouring himself another shot. "Love the scene."

"We're not your brothers." Jacob said as Seth downed his next shot. "We're not your family. We're your prisoners."

"Dad, don't." Kate warned.

"It's alright, little lady." Seth said. "You see, Papa Bears grumble. That's what Papa Bears do."

"You think you're in control cause you got the keys?" Jacob asked. "You think you're on top of the world. But you're not. You're on the bottom. And you're scared."

"And you think you're better than me." Seth said. "You too good to have a drink with a common thief, is that it?" Jacob didn't answer. "Now, like it or not, we are a family. A broken, messed-up, sad excuse for a family." Seth scoffed. "But goddammit, we got love for each other, don't we? Love and forgiveness. That's how you get through the day, right?" Jacob just stared at the Gecko. Seth could tell the Fullers took a liking to the redhead, so he decided to mess with 'em. Seth grabbed Anna's chair and yanked it closer to him, causing her to be closer to him. So, close that her leg brushed up against his. She quickly moved her legs away as Seth put his arm around the back of her chair before looking at her. "So here goes, Princess. I left some bodies on the ground back in Kansas. Now, no doubt they were good men and true, but they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, and they stood between me and my freedom. So, I did what I had to do. I did what anybody would do. Can you find it in your heart to forgive me?" Anna stared at him, thinking.

Should I forgive him?

"I..."

"I can't hear you." Seth said.

"...Y-Yes." Anna answered.

"Yes, what?" He asked.

"Yes, I forgive you." She said and he slammed his hand down on the table, causing her to flinch a bit.

"Bingo." He said and nodded at her. "Good job." He picked up the next shot and downed it before looking at her again. "Now you."
