Part 1

"Congratulations everyone!"

"Yeahhhh!"

Half the class had come to the cafeteria together for lunch on the same day we got our mid-term results. We formed one massive table in the middle of the cafeteria so that everyone could sit and celebrate with one another. This seemed to annoy some of the smaller tables around us and even though I felt bad for them, the rest of the class was too ecstatic to care.

We'd all been studying hard to ensure none of us had to drop out and to score as highly as possible. We were all relishing in a much-needed mental reprieve. There wasn't a student here that wasn't smiling, we were all completely overjoyed from the outcome of the mid-term exam.

"Whew! I gotta say though, those mid-terms were dangerous. Even without Amikura-chan's help or the study groups, I would have been fine, but Terumento and some others would have been in some seriously hot water!"

"What are you talking about Tabata? You got the lowest score out of everyone!"

"That's where you're wrong, my good friend Terumento. If I actually went all out, I would have easily gotten all perfect scores."

"Yeah right! Even if you dedicated the rest of your life to studying, you wouldn't even come close to scoring perfectly."

"You wanna bet?"

"Gladly."

Tabata and Terumento were sharing a rather loud conversation towards the opposite end of the table. Yume looked at them with exasperation.

"They never change those two, do they?" she said signing.

"Hehe, I was waiting for someone to say something like that," Chihiro said chuckling. She turned and looked at me from the seat next to me. "It's good that everyone got through this, right Ichinose-san?"

"Of course, I'm over the moon because everybody passed without issue. Still, we have to keep everyone, including those two, on the right track or we could have problems leading up to the finals," I said.

"Ugh! The school doesn't give us any room to breathe! That vacation they promised us can't come any sooner," Yume said still exasperated.

"Ooh, I'd nearly forgotten about that. They only just mentioned it today after all. We should go shopping for some new clothes for the beach. What do you guys think?" Chihiro said excitedly.

"That's a great idea! I don't know about you guys, but my swimsuit doesn't really suit me anymore."

"Why do you say that, Yume-chan?" I asked.

"Well, to put it bluntly, the one I have now doesn't show off as much skin as I'd like it to. Also, it's kinda small. I've grown quite a bit since I've last used it."

"Woah. I have to admire your confidence, Yume-chan. How about you Ichinose-san? Do you want to come with us?"

"A new swimsuit hmm?"

I thought about it for a few moments. I would indeed like to have a new swimsuit, but I already had the school one that they issued when I enrolled. Considering the number of points I have, it would be bad if I were to spend them on something like this.

"I'll happily join you guys, but I'm not sure if I'll buy a new swimsuit for myself. I already have the school swimsuit and I'd feel bad if I used points on something that isn't essential," I said.

"Eh? Why Honami-chan? You don't have to worry about being the class treasurer that badly. I'm sure the majority of us are gonna be buying something like this soon enough. You should at least treat yourself to one extra." Yume said resting an arm on my shoulder.
