Chapter 1 : A blessing from above

Today was the day. Ibara had been waiting for this moment for what seemed like forever. She was standing in front of the gates of U.A. Even though she passed the entrance exam, she still couldn't believe it.

She clasped her hands together as she looked into the sky. "Thank you for this blessing!" Ibara said as a beam of sunlight seemed to shine on her. "Where is that light coming from?" A nearby student asked as they looked around.

"I will not waste this blessing." She said as she started walking towards the entrance. But trip over nothing. 'Forgive me, lord!' She closed her eyes and braced for the inevitable impact from the ground.

But felt nothing. Opening her eyes, she saw she was a foot away from kissing the floor. Ibara then noticed an arm above her chest holding her. Looking up slowly, she was curious about what this heaven-sent hero looked like.

Noticing the hair first. Forest green curly hair, blowing in the air. Then the eyes. Beautiful green color, just like the hair. She almost got lost in them. Her eyes lowered down until they reached...his smile?

Her eyes widen. His smile was an ear-to-ear grin and his teeth were sharp, giving him an eerie look. Ibara screamed as she jumped out of his arms. She must have scared him cause he screamed too.

"Grabbing her chest she felt like her heart was about to jump out. "F-f-forgive me! That was very insensitive of me! Thank you for helping me!" Ibara shouted while bowing over a hundred times.

"Uh, it's okay. I uh got to go now." He said walking past her. He was still smiling but Ibara could tell it was forced. She felt terrible about the whole situation.

Just as he was about to enter the building she had to tell him something. "Uh, may the Lord be with you!" Ibara shouted. He stopped and turned around as everyone around did as well.

She saw his smile was gone. He had an almost intrigued look. He then said something that would shock Ibara to her core. "And with your spirit." He said while showing a soft smile.

Ibara was frozen in place. She was too stunned to speak. No one has ever greeted her in the same manner as she does. Before her mind could think further on the matter, she heard the bell ring.

"W-what?! Oh no! I'm late!" She shouted as she ran in.

Meanwhile in class 1-B. "What is your name?" "Izuku Midoriya!" He said with a huge smile. "Why are you late?" The teacher Vlad asked. "I got lost, sir!" Izuku answered.

"Don't say it so cheerfully. One week of detention." Vlad said.

"Wh-"

"Want two?" He asked. Izuku just stood there quietly, still smiling.

Vlad read his file. He had an uncontrollable face spasm. Vlad sighs. "I always get the weird one. Alright, go to your seat." He told him. Izuku did as he was told.

"Alright, class. I will be your homeroom teacher, Vlad king-" [Slam]

Vlad was interrupted by the door being slammed open. A girl with vines for hair burst through.

"Forgive me...I...I got lost." Ibara said between breaths. "It's your first day, it fine. have a seat." Vlad said. "What?" Izuku said. "Be a man!" Vlad shouted.

As Ibara found her seat Vlad contunied. "As I was saying. I will be your homeroom teacher, Vlad king. I would like to start by saying, Do not be discouraged!!"

the random outburst surprised the whole class. "Just because we're class 1-B does not mean we are any less than class 1-A! Through hard work and dedication, you will be able to surpass class 1-A and go beyond plus ultra!!" Vlad shouted.

"Yeah!" A blonde boy shouted. Everyone else just kinda stayed quiet. "Now since this is your first day here, everyone will get up and go to the front of the class and say your name, quirk, and what you like. Let's get started!" Vlad said.

"My name is Yosetsu Awase, my quirk is weld and it allows me to fuse objects together at an atomic level. I like mobile games"

"My name is Sen Kaibara, my quirk is called gyrate. It allows me to rotate any part of my body like a drill. I like cameras."

"I am Togaru Kamakiri. My quirk is razor sharp and is makes blades on my body. Also, insects are cool."

"Shihai Kuroiro. My quirk is black and it lets my body merge into anything that has a dark color. I like squid ink pasta."

"Hello! My name is Itsuka Kendo and my quirk is big fist, I can enlarge both of my hands into giant size. I really lie black coffee and motorcycles."

"I am Yui kodai. My quirk is size, I can alter the size of nonliving objects when I touch them. I like matryoshka dolls."

"My name is Kinoko Komori. My quirk is mushroom. I can create spores to make different types of mushrooms. I like mushrooms."

Finally, it was Ibara's turn. She was a bit nervous but after a deep breath, she stood up and went to the front of the class.

"My name is Ibara Shiozaki. My quirk is vines, I can use my vines for many things. And I like to pray."

When she was finished she was about to go to her seat but then someone spoke. "What do you mean pray? Like a religious thing?" A girl named Setsuna asked.

Whispers were heard around the room. "Well, yeah. I'm a Christian." Ibara told her. The room fell silent. A boy with brown hair stood up and spoke.

"My name is Kosei Tsuburaba and I also love fictional stories." He said as most of the class started to laugh.

"Okay, that is enough!" Vlad shouted. "It's okay." Ibara said as her face showed disappointment. "The Lord will deal with the lost lambs." Vlad coughed nervously at her comment.

Unbeknownst to them, another boy stood up. "My name is Izuku Midoirya." He caught everyone's attention. "And I think it's really cool of Shiozaki, to be honest to herself in front of everyone."

This shut all the hecklers up. Vlad was proud one of his students said something. As for Ibara, she had an ear-to-ear grin. 'Maybe this time things will be different.' She thought.

"Thank you." She said as she walked back to her seat. Unbeknownst to anyone, even Ibara herself. A small rose grew on one of her vines on the back of her head. 

"Let's continue." Vlad said as the rest of the students went up and presented themselves. Ibara pay little attention though as she kept stealing glances at Izuku. Which was kinda obvious since Izuku was in the back of the class.

After the last student went up Vlad spoke. "No that that is out of the way it's time for your quirk apprehension test!" He told them. "Go to the locker rooms and put these on and come see me in the field." He said holding up U.A gym clothes.

"Your first day begins now."
