( Y/FN = Your first name.
Y/LN = Your last name.
P/BC = Preferred blood color.
LF/A = Least favorite animal. )

You were always the shy type. Maybe it was because of your low blood, maybe it was because of your terrible lusus. Either way, you are super quiet and awkward and all of that not-so-great stuff.

But ever since THE INCIDENT (Yes, it required capitalization), you felt even less confident. You could barely write, with that useless arm of yours. You had to use your less dominant hand, and your penmanship looked like a hoofbeasts'. Probably. Maybe even worse.

But Kankri made you feel a little better. When some of your other "friends" didn't visit you when you were recovering, he did. And he brought movies! Sure, they sucked, but it was the thought that counts.

So, when you got out of your friends hive (There wasn't any hospitals were you lived, so he was the next best thing), you decided to pay him back. You bought some cotton candy, chocolate, a movie starring Troll Will Smith, and some sweet shades. But, first, you went to your hive. Checking your laptop, you sighed. No one even texted hi. However, just when you were about to close it, a notification popped up. Kankri? It seemed to be the only logical answer, but when you opened the chat, the text was a neon light blue that irritated your eyes.

"TRIGGER WARNING: Y9U SUCK." - Twelve seconds ago.
"UUUUUUGH WHY AREN'T YOU TALKING T9 ME." - Nine seconds ago.
"N9W Y9U'RE JUST S9MEB9DY THAT I USED T9 KN999999999W." - Six seconds ago.

Okay. That was either Kankri, or a really bad impersonator.

"Who put you up to this...? Wait. Kankri. Did you drink mind honey or something?" You texted back, petting your lame lusus, which was a/an LF/A.

"9R S9METHING." He immediately replied, barely waiting a second. "CAN WE MEET UP ALREADY????????? I AM S9 69RED."

Okay, so he's being annoying. "No, not right now. I have a huge headache, and you're being a jerk."

"PLEASE!?!?!? Y9U G9T ME INT9 TRICKSTER M9DE IN THE FIRST PLACE." What.

"How?"

"Y9U G9T THE PRESENT AND STUFF, RIGHT? WITH THE CANDY?"

"No...?"

"9h. WELL... THAT'S WEIRD. BUT I D9N'T REALLY CARE A69UT THAT. UM... WAIT. I TH9UGHT 9F S9METHING REALLY FUNNY. C9ME 9VER, 9KAY?"

"Fine." At this point, you just wanted that annoying text color away from your innocent eyes. Besides, you still had to give him those gifts. And you wanted to tell Kankri about something... Even if he was bring annoying. "I'll be over there in a minute."

The conversation promptly ended, and you turned off your laptop. You glared at your lusus, who was sitting on your stuff with a smug expression. Rude.

\ A few hours later. /

You knocked on the door to Kankri's hive, holding a basket with stuff you already mentioned, and looked around. It was a pretty okay hive, but it looked like some sparkly red paint was splattered carelessly across the place. Pretty recently too, since it was still wet and dripping onto the ground. "Kankri?"

It was late at night, about an hour before sunrise, and the stars were twinkling rather brightly. The moon was in a crescent shape, like a Cheshire cat's smile. Or frown, you guess. But, it was still kind of a breathtaking night. But, you weren't really focused about that, to be frank.

The door opened, and your jaw practically dropped in shock. The scent of candy suddenly filled the area like a forest fire on steroids, and the sense that something was wrong really worried me. His skin, normally gray, was now some pastel yellow and his usually black hair was now somewhere between light jade and teal. He had multiple heart-shaped candies in his hair with various words on them (most of them required trigger warnings), and a bright pink sweater. He had a blinding white grin, and he seemed happy, but there was something off about him. It was like he was glitching out, outlined in a bright blue blur. "Y/FN! IT'S GREAT T9 SEE T9 Y9U!" His words were spoken faster than the speed of light, without stopping. To be honest, it was more like he said, "Y/FNITISGREATT9SEEY9U!"

But, that'd be really annoying to read.

"Hi... Uh, this is... Interesting. Wait, is that a-" You noticed a gun in his hand, and was going to answer when he immediately started replying.

"9F C9URSE IT IS, I WAS G9ING T9 WARN Y9U A69UT IT. GET IT?! IT WAS G9ING T9 BE A LITERAL TRIGGER WARNING!" Kankri continued on. "ANYWAY, THAT'S N9T THE REAS9N I WANTED Y9U T9 C9ME 9VER. I HAVE T9 TELL Y9U S9METHING."

"Oh, well... I kind of wanted to give you something." You kinda tossed the basket to him, and he barely caught it. It was like it almost phased through him, which was awkward. He put it on the table, and stepped outside. It was just you, and him.

"THANKS. ANYWAY, ALL9W ME T9 JUST GET T9 THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. IMPLIED BUCKET FILLING, RED AS F*** R9MANCE, CURSING, AND A T9N 9F KISSING. ... I SH9ULD'VE PROBABLY SAID THE CURSING PART FIRST."

"Um... What are you--?" He then, in a way you didn't really expect, he kissed you. It wasn't unpleasant, far from, but it didn't seem like a Kankri thing to do.

His lips were soft and gentle, and your tongues were dancing in synchronization, like it was practically orchestrated. It wasn't really with much on your part, with your awkward exploration of his mouth, but he was searching through your mouth with a sort of expertise that Kankri shouldn't of had. It felt like you were trapped in a moment, as if the world disappeared. But, you pulled back as soon as you could, a little saliva on your lips.

"Kankri... Thank you, but... You're not... Well, you're not right now. You're acting weird, and maybe we could have a relationship, but not like this. Maybe after this weird stuff?"

Kankri smile got a little bit bigger.

(( Thanks for reading! This is my first fanfic here, so be gentle, okay?))
