You missed being alive a lot. You missed feeling adrenaline, or your heart race, or generally the energy you had when you were alive.
But, most of all, you missed your old friends. You could still theoretically see them and talk to them, yes, but they weren't the same. They... felt like different people. They felt dead, which they admittedly were.
But there was one person that hurt you just by looking at his stupid helmet: Mituna. He wasn't himself anymore. He wasn't anything like your old friend. He was just a broken, empty shell that didn't even remember you.
So you pushed him away. You yelled at him, insulted him, you did anything so you wouldn't see him.
And yet, despite all of your attempts, he was right at your door. It made you feel uncomfortable, like if the temperature was just a little too hot for comfort. And, worst of all, he was crying. This stranger was having the nerve of crying at your doorstep. Whilst wearing his goddamn helmet, on top of the aforementioned crying.
"Why," you grit your teeth, "are you here? I told you not to talk to me."
He sniffled, and looked down at the ground. "I DID SOMETHING REALLY STUPID." He said, his lisp practically taking center stage of the sentence. He also made some of his sadly typical gurgling noises. "AND NOW SHE DOESN'T WANT TO BE MY MATESPRIT ANYMORE."
"Well, why don't you talk to Kurloz?" You tried keeping your voice even, but you fail horribly. You couldn't understand why Latula would break off their red romance. They always seemed pretty happy to you.
"HE'S BUSY WITH MEULIN." Cue his weird-gibberish noises and the like.
"Oh." They were still a thing? Sheesh. "Well, that sucks. Please leave."
"NO."
"Please leave."

You were the quiet low-blood who sat at the edge of the skating park, merely watching as everyone seemed to be having fun. You, after getting tired of watching them, decided to do some sketching. It's not like you could go to your hive; your lusus was awake at this hour, and you didn't want to start an argument with your Amalgamation-Mom.But, someone caught your eye. Some yellow-blood was doing some amazing backflips and front flips and whatever the fuck-flips on some ramp-thing. It was a lot cooler than it sounded. And, he must've seen you, because he walked up to you.
"What's wrong?"
-
"WHY ARE YOU CRYING!?" Mituna asked, a little confused. He seemed to be a little nervous, but it was hard to tell with him.You wiped some tears off your face- when did you even start crying? "Sorry, I was just thinking about... old times. Um... you know what? Let's go skateboarding, or something."
-
"I'm fine.""Well then, why are you just sitting there?"
"Well, I can't. I'm a girl."
"And that's a big deal how...?"
"Well, um..."
"Exactly. Anyway, I could teach you... if you want."
"Sweet! That sounds hella "rad!""
"... Don't say "rad." It's really awkward. I only know one person in the universe that can make it sound cool."
-
"No, no, no! You're doing it all wrong!" You sighed, as Mituna crashed to the ground. Again. This was so stupid. He kept falling on his face again and again."I'M SORRY, OKAY?"
"I don't care. Look, your feet have to placed like this." You got out your skateboard, showing the correct footing. "See?"
-
"You're a natural. Calm down, you'll get the hang of it.""Mituna, this is the fiftieth time I've fallen on my face! I feel like I got beaten up."
"Well, if you keep practicing, you'll get it. Look- you're already half way there."
"Maybe I'm just not meant to go on skateboards- like how Cronus isn't meant to go on dates and Rufioh can't be single."
-
"UGH! I CAN'T DO THIS!" Mituna yelled, annoyed."Huh? What's wrong?" You weren't really paying attention to Mituna for a while- you were just chilling.
"STUPID, STUPID, STUPID! MAYBE I SHOULDN'T SKATEBOARD."
-
"Don't say that- you almost got it perfect! You just need to readjust your footing- like this."
...
"Whoa, Mituna- did you see that? I didn't fall on my face- I didn't fall on my face!"
-
"Um, Mituna? Please don't say that, okay? You just need to... keep trying, and you'll get the hang of it!""YOU'RE CRYING AGAIN."
"... Oh. I was just thinking about an... an old friend of mine. It's nothing. Let's just skateboard some more."
By the next day, Latula and Mituna were together again, like nothing happened.
And that was okay.
(Okay, I know this isn't really an X Reader- it's more of a <> Reader. And I didn't get Mituna's quirk. But, to my defense, I couldn't really read Mituna's quirk. And, the reason pre-accident Mituna doesn't speak in capitals is to drive some contrast between them. Also, I got inspiration from some sadstuck, so I'm sorry if it's a bit depressing.)
