FACECLAIM golshifteh farahaniPERSONALITY farah is a helper at heart. a true altruist, she always tries to do the right thing, remains hospitable, and keeps her good manners about her. she's practical, loyal, sensitive, warm, and has an unusually strong sense of duty and dedication for her young age. farah likes for her friends and family to feel safe and secure around her. however, she can be a little judgemental—more so with her family and friends than anyone else. she holds the people she loves to such a high standard that, if they disagree with her or fight with her, farah struggles to find the middle ground. despite her righteousness though, her love and loyalty win over in the end.
the girl considers it a responsibility to give back, to serve others. there is an established morality about her, and she does what she thinks is right. while she is very opinionated, she is respectfully so. and, often, she is very well informed on the subject matter. farah is a very specific person, and pays great attention to detail. she likes order and structure, and does everything in a methodological manner. if there is one thing to remember about farah—more than anything else— it is that she wants to do good, and be good. which will prove to be harder and harder to do as the outbreak continues.
LIKES ham and cheese sandwiches, photography (reminds her of her mother), jogging, keeping busy, the smell before it rains.
DISLIKES crying (god, especially in front of people), know-it-alls, arguments (however, she will stand her ground), disorganization kills her.
STRENGTHS not very strong but is somewhat fast (thanks to her michigan roomate who made farah go on morning runs with her), expansive medical knowledge, works well and efficiently under pressure, intelligent.
WEAKNESSES not very strong, too selfless, can be defensive when criticized, fears ridicule, not an actual doctor.
WEAPONS as of right now, a simple crowbar. it was the first weapon she grabbed to defend herself during the initial outbreak, and it's stuck with her ever since. farah was never one to go to the nearby shooting range or take defense classes—she never had a need to. now, though, she'd be willing to learn.BACKSTORY 1997, in nebraska, farah was born to an iranian immigrant father and a world-renowned anthropologist mother. her childhood was an easy one, with two loving, successful parents in a suburban neighborhood on the outskirts of omaha, and little to no life troubles. farah had good grades, good friends, and a good head about her. the girl's father was a doctor, a surgeon, and ever since she was a little, farah had wanted to follow in his footsteps. she did wonderful in school, volunteered practically the entirety of her high school career, was the valedictorian of her graduating class, and got accepted to the university of michigan on an academic scholarship—where she double-majored in biology and psychology.
after graduating at the top of her class at michigan, farah was admitted into NYU's medical program. she had finished her third year of med school at NYU and was going to start her fourth when the virus hit.
