CHAPTER 4 - WE ONLY SEE EACHOTHER AT WEDDING AND FUNERALS

Violet P.O.V

flashback

I sat with Ben in my room. He was reading and I was drawing when he looked up at me.

"Eight, you don't have a name yet. Why haven't you spoken to Mom about that? "

I put my drawing to the side so I could give him my full intention.

"I don't know Benny. I have never thought about it. All the names mom suggests I don't really like. "

He gave a shrug and went back to reading. He was reading his favourite book, the one he reads to me when I have a nightmare, so I asked him to read it out loud for me. I was sat up in the corner of my bed, and Ben was sat next to me with his back to the wall. He gave me a nod and a little smile before going to the start of the book and reading it to me. 

"If you are interested in stories with happy endings, you would be better off reading some other book. In this book, not only is there no happy ending, there is no happy beginning, and very few happy things in the middle. This is because not very many happy things happen in the lives of the three Baudelaire youngsters. "

I was settled listening to Ben reading to me with no care in the world, just taking in every word my brother said.

"Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire were intelligent children. They were charming and resourceful and had pleasant facial features, but they were extremely unlucky. I'm sorry to tell you this, but that is how the story goes. "

Ben slammed the book shut and jumped to look at me with a look of pure happiness on his face.

"I know what your name should be, eight; Violet, like in the book, reminds me so much of you, and it suits you."

I gave him a quick nod before we rushed down to meet Mom.

"MOM, MOM, MOM, we found a name for eight."

She turned around to look at us with a loving smile on her face. Sometimes we forget she is a robot because she is such a loving mother. along with the rest of are siblings. We gave each other a little smile before we told her.

"Violet Hargreeves, her name is Violet."

Everyone was saying that they liked it, and I was so happy to have Ben helping me find my name.

end of flashback

I had just awoken from a short nap, and I looked around but didn't see Diego, so he was probably still doing whatever he was doing. I turned the TV on to pass the time and it came on the news. 

"Eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves has passed away."

I was shocked to hear that. I wasn't happy but not sad. I don't really know how I felt. I turned the TV off and just sat in silence for a bit. Well, it looks like the family is getting back together. This should be fun. Just as I was putting my outfit on for the funeral, the door opened and in walked Diego with a look of distress on her face. 

"Well, by the look of your outfit and face, you have seen the news."

I gave a quick nod before we both made it out of the door and to the taxi. I was sitting in the back talking about the funeral and how it was going to go with the whole family together again or nearly all of the family.

We made it back to the academy, and I just stood outside looking at all the stupid umbrellas on the building I mean my dad literally put them everywhere its so stupid. I gave a sigh before walking in, as I heard Diego say something to Vanya before walking away.
