Ryoba took a cloth from her uniform and helped Alois blow his nose once they got to the main hall then she turned it over using the cloth to clean the blood on his hands. Once the lights turned off Alois began to yell: "It's dark... Ryoba, I'm scared!". Alois slowly slid down onto the floor. "Light!" Claude exclaimed. The candles began to light themselves. Hannah, Timber, Thompson, and Canterbury rushed into the room with lit candlesticks.
Alois began to breathe heavily causing Ryoba to get on her knees and rub his back. She turned around to look around the room spotting that all the Trancy servants were present then noticed that Claude's glasses were knocked off his face. She then quickly turned her attention back to Alois. "It's alright your highness, we're all here" She spoke softly.
The sound of glass shattering interrupted them. "After him! Quickly!" Alois demanded. Ryoba let go of Alois and forced herself to stand back up, she began walking until she felt a tug at her skirt. "No, not you, Claude... Ryoba! Don't go!" The young master exclaimed desperately. A bloodied handprint formed on the spot where Alois tugged. "Master..." Claude said. "Don't leave me..." Alois repeated. "Of course, your highness" Claude said.
"We're companions, we aren't going anywhere" He stated.
"Day and night..." Claude began. Ryoba then caught on. "Sugar and salt, creature and corpse... defiled and immaculate" They said. Claude kneeled in front of Alois while Ryoba only looked down while putting a hand to her chest in pain. The Head Butler held the young master's right hand and Alois held his left out to Ryoba who accepted it. "Your Highness, you don't need to worry anymore. None will leave you... I live to serve, and Claude does by contract" Ryoba said.
"You haven't forgotten, have you?" She questioned. "No! Of course not!" He cried out. "But... He was right... I'm nothing but a foul little brat" Alois said while looking up Ryoba's bloodied uniform. Claude took his second pair of glasses from his chest pocket in his uniform and put them on. "You are my master" Claude stated. "Forget it. I know you're the same." Alois said.
"I am your loyal servant, you needn't set out to arouse my interests" Claude stated letting go of Alois' hand. He brought his gloved hands on Alois' cheeks. "I grow hungrier each day, you'll make one hell of a feast" He said. Alois moved his face away from Claude and pulled Ryoba closer by her hand. "Forget it! You can just..." Alois said. He rubbed his tears away with his right hand. "get swallowed up by the darkness..." He added.
There was an indifferent expression on Claude's face.
"Your Highness... Alois Trancy. You have me, and you always will... until your dying breath or for as long as you want me to serve you" She said. "Do you promise...?" He asked. "The injury I faced today wasn't for anyone but you, your excellency" She stated. "R-Ryoba!" He cried out placing his arms around his maids neck bringing her into a hug.

"Alois Trancy? You say the precious Earl Trancy died three years ago?" A young blue-haired boy questioned. "Yes" Sebastian confirmed. "Three years ago..." The boy repeated. "Alois' mother committed suicide after he went missing and was kidnapped when he was very young. But he came back just before his father passed away, along with a mysterious new butler... and maid." He stated. "Isn't that right?" He questioned.
"This story seems familiar somehow" Sebastian stated.
"Indeed. It's a common one" The young lord stated.

Trancy Manor main entrance -
Claude and Ryoba stood behind the front doors of Trancy Manor. They heard as the guests approached the front doors. Claude opened a door, on the other side they were presented with... "The right honorable Ciel Phantomhive, I presume." Claude said. "We've been expecting you" He added. "I am Claude Faustus, the head butler of this estate along with Ryoba Faustus our head maid." He introduced. Ryoba bowed and then moved out of the way.
The duo took a step forward and then stopped. "What's that?" Ciel asked. Claude looked up to see a spider in its web. "The Trancy coat of arms bears a spider, so out of respect, it's our tradition not to kill them" Claude explained. "But of course, when it comes to spiders the harder you try to kill them, the faster they cling" Sebastian said. "Do come in" Claude said. Ciel leaned on his butler as his breath seemed unsteady.
"Are you alright master? What is it?" Sebastian questioned. "It's nothing" Ciel said. He pushed himself off Sebastian. "Might my butler come with me?" Ciel asked. "Certainly sir" Claude said. "Let's go" Ciel demanded. "Do forgive me but I'm afraid my master is currently away on business" Claude informed them. "He shall return in time for the ball" He added. Ryoba closed the door gently behind the guests.
"Very well" Ciel said. "We have laid out tea and refreshments for you in the drawing room, everyone else has arrived" Claude stated. "Who is everyone?" Ciel questioned.
