To Jonathan's surprise, the Ghostly Assassin finally agreed to meet one of them on the 16th visit.

On the 3rd floor of the The Lady's Bossom, Jonathan was led to one of the private rooms. He looked at the big man leading him, which seemed to be the bartender on the 2nd floor.

He knew the bartender on the 2nd floor was not ordinary, but he didn't expect him to be directly involved with the Ghostly Assassin, that he was even the one leading him. Perhaps it wouldn't be far off to call him the assistant of the Ghostly Assassin. Jonathan's eyes darkened as he looked at Timothy's steady steps.

They walked through a hallway, and Jonathan could not help but sweat when he saw the men guarding each section. The men themselves look menacing, but he still sensed that over a fourth of them were 2nd stage aura users, and this was just the third floor! Considering that the Eldest Princess' palace only had ten 2nd stage aura users, the number here was still absolutely alarming! And those were just what he sensed!

Had the Ghostly Assassin built this force in the years he had been laying low? Or was it even before the passing of the late emperor? Either way, he better report to Her Highness as soon as possible. They could not afford to be ugly with this force, at least until they dealt with the Crown Prince.

Jonathan promptly stopped his steps when Timothy stopped beside a door. Timothy glanced at him and then knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Jonathan was both excited and scared to meet this person. He couldn't figure out what he looked like based on the vague voice, but it didn't sound like it came from an old man, which the Ghostly Assassin should be.

Timothy opened the door and motioned for Jonathan to come in. Jonathan slightly bowed his head as thanks to Timothy and then tried to calm himself when he entered.

As soon as he entered, he saw the seated figure on the head of the table. Jonathan's gaze was stuck on the figure, but as soon as he looked at his direction, Jonathan averted his eyes. The soulless eye of the mask was intimidating.

Jonathan had to close his eyes and briefly run through the points he was taught. He slowly approached the seat under the masked person's stare and then did a respectful bow when he was in front.

"Greetings, I have long looked forward to meeting you..." Jonathan swallowed, hesitant. "Your Excellency, the Ghostly Assassin."

Fortunately, he remembered how Timothy addressed the Ghostly Assassin. He was once told that old monsters like the Ghostly Assassin were eccentric and very particular about the weirdest things, like their title.

On the other side, Moon silently scanned the visitor from head to toe. She knew that he was nervous at a glance. Although he pretended to be calm and was quick-witted, she could tell he was a newbie. Moon slightly got surprised, why would they send a newbie to negotiate? Were they using her to train their people?

"Skip the pleasantries. You aren't talking to the Emperor, you're talking to a business partner. A business partner who doesn't have much time." Moon decided to be straightforward. "Who, when, how, and how much are you willing to pay?"

Jonathan was a bit flustered, "Your Excellency, actually, I do not have the specific infor-"

"Then what are you here for?"

"Her-my master wanted to send her regards and set a time and place to meet — Your Excellency, please understand that my master is not able to appear in public indiscriminately." Jonathan rushed when he felt the low pressure from Moon.

In fact, in Moon's case, her surroundings would literally have low pressure when she's in a bad moon since she would unconsciously absorb more aura, creating a dense and concentrated field of aura. And when a normal person would go near, although they wouldn't die, they would feel colder the nearer they were to the source.

Moon didn't care if they weren't taking her seriously, or if they were using her to train their person, that wasn't where her pride laid, but she couldn't handle it when her time was wasted.

Irritably, Moon tapped on the armrest. "So we set a time to meet, to set a time to meet?"

Jonathan admitted that it did sound troublesome when it was put that way, "In fact, we also want to show our sincerity by revealing our origins and inviting you to our place."

"So we will meet in the Eldest Princess' palace?" Moon directly asked.

Moon noticed that Jonathan wasn't surprised when she mentioned where he came from. It seemed they did deliberately leave some clues. In the first place, Moon didn't believe that someone from the Imperial palace was that lacking in scheming. Even the bastard children of low nobles were adept at currying favours.

"Yes, Your Excellency. W-We want to show you hospitality so that we can develop our relationship, like you said, as business partners. This won't be a one time thing."

Jonathan's voice slightly quivered when he met Moon's gaze under her mask, but he lowered her eyes and spoke quickly.

"You mean to work together long term?" Moon lazily leaned on her seat. The moment she figured that this person had no power, she instantly lost her interest. It was not that she was discriminating, it's just that she hated pointless flowery words like these — only those without power spout these out off their ass.

"Indeed so. Your Excellency, I ask you to hear out my master. I assure you that you will benefit much more-"

Moon raised a gloved hand, interrupting Jonathan. Jonathan dumbly blinked.

"Set the date and time with Timothy," Moon then uttered in the same volume. "Timothy, see the boy out."

The door immediately opened, Timothy stood at the side and motioned for the still Jonathan to go while staring silently.

Jonathan swallowed all the words he wanted to say upon seeing their decisive acts and gave another polite bow to the sitting Moon.

"Then I shall take my leave. Thank you for meeting with me, Your Excellency."
