Robin could hear muttered voices, stepping involuntarily into the space of the peaceful darkness that surrounded him. He tried to ignore them, but the voices grew more prominent now, blasting in his ears and forcing his eyes to be met with a blinding light.

Robin forced his eyes to open and meet with the blinding light. He hissed at the light burning his eyelids. Once his eyes adjusted, he noticed he was in a hospital bed, strapped down. The room's lights were on, showering the room in yellow light. The walls were beige, which went against the dressers next to him, and the closet in front of him, which were gray. The walls held a single window which was shut to the left of him.

He heard a sudden beeping and turned to the right of him, and noticed a heart monitor. Robin also noticed the wires that were sent from the heart monitor to under the chest of his uniform.

One of the gray dressers sat to the left of him. On top of the piece of furniture sat his utility belt and any other weapons he had on him. It didn't matter though, Robin could escape just as easily with or without weapons. Robin didn't find a reason to escape though, especially after what happened. So he just laid in the bed, and began listening to the muffled whispers he heard from outside the door.

"He's..we.." was what he heard Starfire said. She was talking in a very low, soft and sympathetic tone.

"You saw him! Look what he did to me!" was what Beast Boy yelled.

Robin was surprised, Beast Boy had gotten hurt the least. Hadn't he?

"Guys..saw..head.." was what he heard Raven muttered, talking even lower than Starfire had been.

After Raven talked, it all went silent. No sound followed except the heart monitor beeping arithmetically. Robin sighed, focusing on his heart beats, trying to keep himself calm so the beeps wouldn't speed up and alert the titans.

Robin forced his mind to go blank, and stared at the ceiling. No thoughts, no guilt, no emotions, no nothing.

A sudden gust of wind pushed the window of the room open. Still, Robin stared up at the ceiling.

"Robin." A voice came. Robin looked around the room, but from his strapped down laying position, he couldn't see anything.

"Who's there?" Robin called out, his heart speeding up slightly.

"Just me." A voice replied, deep and everlasting.

Robin knew that voice all too well. He should have known who it was the moment the widow opened. It was his former mentor, Batman.

The caped crusader was standing over him now. He felt the bat's eyes glaring at him, even from under the cowl.

"You can't be here." Robin said, a grunt evident under his voice.

"They invited me." Batman replied, his hands fumbling under his cape.

Robin turned his head away. The team knew Robin resented him. Robin had thought last week's events had made that obvious. After this encounter with the bat, Robin would be sure to make his feelings clear.

Batman pulled a batarang out of his utility belt and cut the bonds restraining Robin to the bed. Robin sat up groaning.

"Why didn't you help me?" Robin asked, turning his gaze to his once beloved father. Clearing the awkwardness in the room.

"I wasn't there. I had no idea they laughed at you." Batman stepped closer to the boy, his deep and everlasting voice giving a hint of sympathy.

"I saw you walk the runway. You were there." Robin countered. He wished he could escape this room. Leave jumpcity and gotham behind all together. But Robin knew Batman would be able to catch him just in time. So he didn't move, just kept his gaze fixed on the dark night.
