Kai's POV
"Cmon let's go time to get out of bed." I say as I drag Liam out of his bed and across the dorm floor. He just groans in response.
Morgan and Owen had called me over to their dorm claiming that Liam was refusing to get out of bed. It was currently 1:16 in the afternoon. If anything I was most worried about his bladder exploding.
"Kai put me backkk," he says trying to twist around and claw at the floor, "I was so comfortable."
Morgan and Owen just watch from their joint bed in amusement as I finish dragging Liam to the bathroom and push him inside.
"Alright," I say turning around to the mutts," who wants to get lunch? I was thinking maybe Chinese." Morgan and Owen nod and begin to search for their shoes.
I could tell Liam tried to keep the dorm as clean as he could but Morgan, Owen, and I may have made that a little difficult for him by always trying to test our strengths against one another.
Opening the bathroom door, Liam looked way less dead but still quite tired. My guess was he was waiting for the right moment to dash back under the covers. Not on my watch.
"Ready?" I ask Morgan and Owen and at their nods I lean down to grab Liam and toss him over my shoulder.
"Wait I don't even have my shoes on!" He says trying to struggle out of my grip. "Here ya go," Morgan says as he slides Liam's socks and shoes on his feet," all good for the outside world!"
At this point Liam has given up and gone limp against my shoulder. Owen hands him his wallet and phone and pats his head in sympathy, then off we went.
_________________I don't think I had ever seen anyone eat so many fortune cookies. Liam was like a furry black hole, just vacuuming all of them up.
Where does it all go? I think as a look at his slender stomach. Him and Owen were currently in an argument over whether there were more doors or wheels in the world. Don't get me wrong I love Liam with my whole heart but team doors? Really?
Morgan and I just watched the two idiots fondly as we shared the remaining carton of white rice. It was really quite and peaceful inside the restaurant and we decided we didn't want to ruin that so we took our food and sat on a bench outside, right next to a little alley.
Sitting on the outside of the bench and with his back turned as he talked to Owen, Liam didn't notice the guy rush over until he was pretty much breathing down his neck.
"Woah are you a cat hybrid?!" He practically yelled, startling Liam who turned to look at him uncertainly.
"Uh.. yeah."
"Oh my god that's so cool I've dated all kinds of hybrids but never a cat! Can I pet you?!" Liam was looking really uncomfortable at this point and Owen, Morgan, and I were practically beating our teeth and growling at this dude.
"Ah no you can't," Morgan said, reaching over Liam's shoulder and pushing the guys outstretched hand away," don't run up to people and ask to touch them. You are creeping us out." He looked up from staring at Liam to see six predatory eyes staring him down and must have got the hint that he was definitely not welcomed here.
"Oh actually I'm going to leave, you aren't that interesting anyways." He said scurrying away. Liam still looked a bit shaken up by the whole thing, ears tilted against his head and tail swishing nervously behind him.
"Does that happen often?" Owen asked as he reached over to run his head. "I mean yeah I guess," Liam said scratching his cheek while leaning into Owen's pets,"people aren't usually intimidated by a cat so they have no problem coming up and trying to touch me. I've had a few people follow me home before. I don't think I've ever seen my siblings look as scary as they did when they chased a guy off our lawn after he had been following me."
It never occurred to me that hybrids of more 'domesticated' shifts could have problems like this. I couldn't believe that Liam had dealt with things as serious as people stalking him home just because of his shift.
"We are sorry you have had to deal with that before Liam. We will do our best to make sure that you are protected from people like that as long as we are around." He looked content at that and opened his mouth to respond when a teensy tiny mew was let out.
"Was that you?!" Morgan asked Liam, looking bewildered. "No definitely not." Liam said as he stood up to try to find the source of the sound.
We heard another tiny meow before Liam was heading into the dark alley. "Liam you psycho get back here!" Morgan said as we all stood to follow him. The three of us peak into the alley to see Liam squaring down, holding out his hand and making little pspspsps sounds.
"Do you think of we did that Liam would come?" Morgan said elbowing Owen and I in the ribs. Liam sent us an unamused look over his shoulder.
"Hey there little guy," Liam whispered trying to lure the cat out from behind the boxes where it was hiding, "come on out I won't hurt you."
Suddenly a little grey head popped out and slowly began to slink its way to Liam's outstretched palm. "Oh my goodness look at you, you are so little!" Liam said as the kitten began to run against his hands. He carefully picked it up and held it out for the three of us to see.
"Can we keep it pleaseee?" He asked giving us the puppy eyes. Or I guess kitten eyes.
"I don't know," Owen said leaning down to get a better look, " do you even know how to take care of kittens?"
"Of course I do," Liam said cuddling the kitten to his chest, " I had a few when I was younger and look it's all alone and sad! Just look at this little face!" He said holding it back up to Owen.
"Fine but don't let it scratch up my bed. Those sheets were mildly expensive." Liam looked ecstatic, talking to the kitten and telling it about how he would give it baths, and a collar, and let it sleep in the bed with him, and all that other junk. The kitten was pretty cute and it was obvious that Liam was immediately attached.
Suddenly a little ginger kitten peaked out from behind the boxes and darted over to try and climb Liam's pant legs when it saw the grey kitten in his arms.
"Oh yes I'm taking you too, y'all are mine now." Liam said leaving no room for discussion as he picked the ginger kitten up by the scruff off his pants and placed him in his arm so he could snuggle the grey kitten.
Owen, Morgan, and I all stared at him for a bit as he began to walk back to the dorm before rushing to keep up.
I guess now we had to figure out how to sneak two dirty little kittens into the dormitory. This was going to be interesting.
