Unexplainable.

The feeling that’s circulating within my chest.

Unexplainable.

I hold the source of my befuddled emotions in my trembling hands. I eye the shape, colour, length, and width of the thing; analysing it, assuring myself it isn’t a hallucination.

I then look over the two vertical lines for the fiftieth time and deem it reality.

And like an ambush, my austere expression is shattered by not just my unexplainable emotions, but a storm of tears.

I don’t remember the last time I cried what they call “tears of joy”. I’m crying, but it’s so parallel to what I’m accustomed to… so different.

I like it; the feeling that comes with these teardrops and the fact that in just a few short months, I’d be holding a little version of Caroline and I.

I rest my palm on the carpet and it was damp; washed with a shower of tears.

I probably sit there for thirty more minutes before I hear the front door open. I hastily wipe away the remanence of my… joy, splash my face with water and dry it. I stuff the pregnancy test in my back pocket and walk out front to see my gorgeous woman.

“Oh my gosh Jimin, I had to wait vingt minutes (twenty minutes) for those doughnuts. Apparently I went too early and they were only just rolling the dough out. Don’t they know people eat breakfast? So annoy- why are you looking at me like that?” she questions, folding her arms and lifting a brow.

“Oh nothing!” I skip towards her and remove her Dior trench.

I take off her mask for her and lay it on the kitchen counter. I grab her delicate face into my hands and peck kisses all over her.

“Jimin-”

I carefully lift her off the ground and spin. Nothing could possibly break this moment. I dare it.

I put her down finally and she looks at me, bewildered at my sudden burst of affection.

“Explanation? I mean other than the fact that you love me of course,” she says cheekily.

“You and your little surprises.” I boop her nose.

“What surprises?”

She’s playing dumb. This silly little-

I exhale exasperatedly. “I know you might be mad at me but… I found it.”

“Found what?”

“The pregnancy test!” I blurt out.

Her eyes widen.

“I know you were probably going to tell me at a later date and I wasn’t snooping, trust me. I just needed a wash towel and I found it at the bottom of the drawer-”

“You were in my drawer?”

“Yes, and I’m sorry about that but Caroline… we’re going to have a baby!” I hug her hoping she would forget my disobedience.
