Another Loaned Engine, was a Claughton from The LNWR, or The London & North Western Railway...
This Engine had sparkling red paint with black side plates. This Engine, whose name was Afton, was more...picky, about the types of Coaches he had to use.
Afton considered all the smaller, Older Coaches as "Relics", although he DID have a small amount of respect for them, given how old some of them were...
Like some of the other Visiting Engines, Afton was absolutely DISGUSTED at the idea of pulling Goods Trains, because to see such a powerful Engine like him doing such "filthy work" was an INSULT!!!
Early one morning, Afton steamed proudly into Knapford. He was to be hauling the Local Stopping Trains today. But as he approached the Platform, he WHEESHED angrily as he suddenly spotted the Coaches he'd been assigned to...
Afton had been given the small, Single-Axel Coaches. While they WERE painted in the NWR beige and blue Livery, they were much smaller and older than the Bogie Coaches he was used to...
Afton: What's this?! Why do I have to pull these ancient relics?!?!
Secretly, Afton was a bit worried. He knew how old these particular Coaches were, and he didn't want to risk damaging them. He was only pretending to hate them so he wouldn't risk breaking them.
"Just be happy you even have a Train to pull at ALL!!!" Thomas hissed as he pushed several more Coaches to the back of the Train. "I've had to hunt the yards for extra Coaches!!"
Afton: Then you can damm well take THESE Coaches away, and go find me some PROPER Coaches!!!!
76439: Oh, leave him alone, Afton. Just take those Coaches, and get going.
To keep up his act, Afton let off a wheesh of steam, and snorted round to the front of the train, backing down onto The Coaches with a harsh BUMP!!
