Chapter 15- Paper rings

"What is it? You look so worried," Marithe mumbled with a mouthful of food

"It's Chanwoo," as soon as I said it, she looked appalled as well,

"Well... What did he say?" she asked but was still focused on the platter of cuisines in front of her

"I forgot to remove him in my private IG and now he has seen all of my posts about our meetup last week," I said with a disheartened tone,

"Even your photos with Haruto?" she said, pausing to look at me

"Yeah and he replied 'Glad you got back together, so happy for you two'. Gosh I feel so awful," I said, reading out the text he had just sent me a minute ago,

"I'll reply to him when we get home," I added as I turned off my phone and placed it back to my bag with a sigh

He shouldn't have seen that, we're friends so I didn't want to hurt his feelings.

"Well, did you two really get back together?" she asked as I resumed eating my food,

"Most definitely," I answered, my heart fluttered inside my chest with the thought of him being mine again

"And I asked Jeongwoo about you two. You guys always seem to never run out of things to talk about but you never talk about the two of you," I scolded, she just chuckled

"Nah he says he's still confused," she admitted

"About what?" I questioned, maybe I just forgot but I think he never told me anything about being confused

"He told me that before our meet up, his heart was already beating for a certain girl. But when I came back, it's like his feelings for me came back as well," she explained nonchalantly as if what she just heard didn't hurt her at all

"I couldn't blame him, you know, for liking another girl. Distance really makes a difference, maybe if you or Haruto moved farther apart, one of you would've gotten over the other. But it really doesn't guarantee that you'll completely move on." she explained when she noticed that I fell silent out of shock and confusion

"I understand what Jeongwoo feels, I felt that way too. The moment that I walked down that aisle and saw him crying, then only for a minute, I wanted to change my mind because it didn't feel right to me. I thought I moved on but when I saw him, I knew I still loved him," she added but I couldn't understand

How can you fall for someone when you're still in love with someone else?

"Take it this way, I know you still love Doyoung and he will always have a special place in your heart. And when given the chance, you know you'd want to be with him again, right?" she said as if she read my mind

"Yes but that wouldn't be possible because he passed away and I have Haruto now so..." I answered skeptically, she nodded approvingly

"Right, but Jeongwoo's situation is different. She likes this girl but he knows that we now have a chance to fix what's bent in our relationship, so he's torn between moving on or going back," she concluded, I now finally understood

"Does the girl like him too? Or did he even say who the girl was?" I inquired, she looked at me confused

"He never told you about this?" she returned the question to me

"No, as a matter of fact, I never knew he liked somebody else, I always thought it was still you," I said, we were both silent in shock

"He only told me about a name, Ni-," she said, she kept repeating the first syllable of the name until she remembered it
