Unraveling of Souls

Chapter 1

"Evan, bakit ba tayo nandito?" I heard a voice of a man said.

It was faint, like it was almost whispering.

"We want to know if the lady's  okay and if she's awake already," tugon naman ng isa pang tinig, boses iyon ng isang batang lalaki.

"Sa pagkaka‐alala ko, sinamahan lang kita dito dahil pinilit mo ako. Do you not remember Dawn warning us to never come or even knock on the door of this room?" pasinghal na ani ng lalaki sa kasama nito na ipinagtaka ko.

Nasaan ba ako?

At sino ba ang mga tao 'to?

Sino ba ang kanilang pinag‐uusapan?

"Tsk. Just don't mind him at hindi naman tayo magtatagal." narinig kong sabi ng batang lalaki sa kasama nito.

I then heard the gentle sound of a door shutting.

"Yari talaga tayo kay Dawn nito." I heard the man mumbled.

Their voices are incredibly near ngunit wala akong makitang tao, or even an ounce of light, it's just a dark, empty  space.

Wala akong nakikitang kahit ano man.

Is it possible that I died?

If that's the case then, where am I now?

Nasa langit na ba ako? Pero bakit madilim. . .

Natitiyak ko naman na hindi ako nasa impyerno, I didn't do anything bad to be there in the first place.

Well, I did scared a couple of people.

Nagawa ko lang naman iyon dahil inaabuso na nila ang kalikasan; cutting almost every tree, and letting a group of bees chase after  them is just the right thing to do.

At minsan ay hindi rin ako nakikinig kay kuya, though I don't know if that counts.

Ang tipid ni 'ya kasing magsalita, all he does is just point at things then says one word.

Sinong gaganahang makinig sa kanya?

I actually feel bad for my future sister‐in‐law.

Ilang sandali ay pansamantalang namayani ang katahimikan sa aking isip.

I have to think of a way to get out of here.

I tried to hold my right hand out to the darkness, trying to feel something or find something but to no avail, hindi ko man lang maramdaman ang mga kamay ko.

In fact, I cannot feel my entire body.

Ilang oras pa lang ang lumipas pero I want to cry out of frustration.

I couldn't do anything but stare at the empty dark space around me.

But how did I even get here anyway?

Sa pagkaka-alala ko, I was being chase after that man, then that wolf came into to the scene almost killing me. . . Almost.

Then that man showed up and killed the wolf, detaching its head from the body in the process.

Remembering that scene makes me want to puke.

Para 'yung hiniwa ng kutsilyo sa leeg nang paulit‐ulit hanggang sa tuluyan nang humiwalay ang ulo nito.

It's just so nasty, ngayon lang ako nakakita ng ganoon.

Then that man, sino ba siya at bakit ni 'ya ako sinusundan?

And what's with the words that he kept on saying?

Sayang lang at hindi ako nakapagpasalamat sa kanya.
