Chapter 12

In San Francisco, Tom drives Sonic to Rachel's house and Paige carries him to the front door wrapped in a blanket.

"Don't worry." Paige said to Sonic. "Mom can help you."

"He'll be all right." Tom assured.

Tom knocks on the door and Rachel answers.

"Is Maddie here?" Tom asked.

"No, no. Not today. Goodbye!" Rachel said as she tried to slamthe door in Tom's face.

"Wait! Aunt Rachel!" Paige pleaded.

"It's an emergency!" Tom stated as he tries to get in.

"Bye-bye!" Rachel said.

"Rachel, stop! Please! Maddie!" Tom exclaimed. "Don't do this! This is important!"

"Mom!" Paige called out. "Mom, it's us! Mom!"

Maddie walks in and tries to let Tom and Paige in.

"Oh, my God! Rachel, let them in!" Maddie said to her sister.

Tom and Paige run inside.

"I am calling the police!" Rachel retorted. "No, I am calling the FBI. I am calling the CIA."

"Stop, don't do that." Tom said.

"I am calling your mother!" Rachel added.

"Okay, got it!" Maddie said.

"Maddie, can we talk?" Tom asked.

"Tom, what's going on?! You and Paige are all over the news, I've been trying to call you!" Maddie stated.

"We had to ditch our phones so they couldn't track us." Tom informed.

"Ditch your phones?!" Rachel questioned.

"Track you?!" Maddie added.

Jojo runs to Tom and Paige.

"Paige! Uncle Tommy!" Jojo smiled as she hugs them.

"Jojo, hey!" Tom greeted.

"Hey, little lady." Paige chuckled.

Rachel pulls Jojo away from Tom.

"Now your niece is an accessory to treason!" Rachel said to Tom.

"No, she's not." Tom disagreed.

"Would you calm down?" Maddie asked her sister.

"Calm down?!" Rachel questioned. "I will not calm down!"

Ozzy walks in as Maddie and Rachel argue with each other.

"Enough!" Maddie argued.

"Yes, calm down." Tom agreed. "Stop talking."

Ozzy barks at Paige.

"No. Ozzy, please." Paige said. "Good to see you, too."

Paige leans forward a little, which almost gives Sonic away.

"Oh, Little Lord Baby Jesus!" Rachel exclaimed. "What is that, Paige? Is that plutonium?! Is it e-mails?"

"Yes, it's plutonium." Tom replied sarcastically, before he turned to Maddie. "Can we please go in the other room and talk--."

Ozzy barks again.

"Stop it, Ozzy!" Tom said. "Quit it!"

"This is why I told you he was no good!" Rachel commented to her sister.

"I'm not engaging!" Maddie snapped.

"No, Ozzy! Quit it!" Paige said as Ozzy starts tugging on the blanket and everyone is arguing all at once. "Ozzy, no! Ozzy, no!"
