Church was great, many of the members were shocked to see that I had brought Ntsika with me. That says a lot about me being a loner.

After church we had oxtail that I left in the slow cooker to do its thing,we had it with rice, green salad and for dessert we had a lemon tart.

"Next Sunday, you are joining us at home for lunch since I can't cook to save my life", Ntsika said after we had stuffed our stomachs with food and we were relaxing in the back of the house.

"I am not great with new people, what if I embarrass you in front of your family?" I was not trying to be difficult, it is what it is.

"We will see then", that's all he said.

Today is a Monday, we have just finished serving the morning crowd. It's our time to have breakfast, we can't serve others and forget about ourselves. It would be pointless, I think.

"We need to put up a poster, we need someone who can also bake or I will burn out", I tell Wendy who is enjoying a bagel and coffee.

"Now you are talking like a businesswoman, my friend and role model", she says with her lips smeared with cream cheese from the bagel.

"I cannot comment on the role model part", I say finishing my orange juice.

I wipe the counter with a rag that I rinsed in disinfectant, with Covid-19 around, you can't be too careful. I also wipe the unoccupied tables, five out of twelve.

The bells announce the opening of the door, I don't mind it though. I go to the kitchen to wash the rag.

"She will be back just now, she will never ignore a customer", that's what I hear when I join Wendy.

I look up to see Anthony and Luca casually talking to Wendy, about me. "Good morning, how are you?" I greet them as soon as they notice me behind Wendy.

"Amazing, now that you are not blatantly ignoring our existence", says Anthony sipping on his beverage.

"I wasn't ignoring you, I had to do something before I forgot", I tell them and earn an eye roll from Anthony.

"I'm just happy to be hear and eating Lamingtons which I haven't had in a very long time", says Luca taking a huge bite of the Lamington.

Wendy gets to work on the post in the office while I entertain our customers from the USA.

"How long have you been open?" Asks Anthony looking at me as if I have an interesting reply to his question.

"About a month", I tell him while preparing a drink for a customer.

"Has it always been a dream or it was impulsive?" He asks making me raise a eyebrow.

"Are you interviewing me?" I ask earning a chuckle from Luca who has been quiet.

"I'm curious, but if it makes you uncomfortable, I'm sorry. It wasn't my intention", Luca looks at him shocked, but he ignores him.

"Why do you want to know? You will be leaving very soon and you will forget about ever coming to my shop and talking to me", I tell him the honest truth he seems to be forgetting.

"Want to bet?" I look at him like he has lost his mind. "Be prepared to lose", he winks at me.

"Luca, what do you do besides being his friend?" I change the topic, Anthony is making me feel things I have never felt before.

"I own a law firm, conveniently, I'm also his attorney", he says earning an aye roll from his client, which I'm learning he does a lot.

"How is the competition there?" I ask Luca totally ignoring his friend.
