It was the 4th of July and unlike every other year, instead of being at some huge party, Steve was in his own home on the Couch. He was lazing about, enjoying the peace and quiet while it lasted, even if it was only for a little bit. He knew all too well it would end soon, considering the fact that he had invited his friends over for a sort of mini-party.He hadn't planned on drinking anything, or purchasing alcoholic drinks in general, because most of his friends (or should I say kids) were in fact Children. Or at least underage. He had invited Dustin, Mike, Will, Lucas, El and Max. Along with Robin and Eddie, of course. He'd considered inviting Jonathan and Nancy, but they ended up doing their own thing together, so he just scrapped the idea entirely.
Steve spent the entire day prior decorating his house for the event. Even if it only had a few people, he wanted to make sure it was special. In fact, he had spent more time preparing for this party then he had spent on any other party before. Why he took more time with this one, Steve had no idea. And because he had no idea, he decided not to think about it anymore then he had to.
He was just finishing up putting the snacks out, when Steve heard a knock at the door. He quickly made his way over to his front door, running his fingers through his hair to try and at least make him self look a little bit presentable. He let out a small sigh, before opening the door.
"Steve! It's great to see you!"
Robin grinned as she pulled Steve into a hug, behind her were both El and Will. She had agreed to pick them up, and Eddie agreed to pick up Lucas and Dustin and bring them here aswell. Mike was going to be riding his bike here, and Max was going to ride on her skateboard.
"It's great to see you aswell, Robin. Will, El, it's good to have you both here too."
Steve grinned, stepping aside to make enough room for the three to walk in. Robin gasped at the sight of all the decorations, and El just stood there in awe. "..Are you sure you didn't invite a bunch of other people? I mean- this seems like a bit much for just our group." Will said, a perplexed look on his face.
Steve shrugged. "Eh- it's really not that much of a trouble. Specially when you've done it so many times. Besides- I wanted to make sure you guys liked it." He let out and awkward chuckle and rubbed the back of his neck, realizing how embarrassing that might be once he said it out loud.
Before he could give Robin a chance to poke fun at him, Steve cleared his throat and swiftly changed the subject.
"There are snacks in the kitchen- and the pool is in the back. You guys just wait a bit for everyone else to get here, ok?"
They all agreed, and the three of them made their way to the back. Now all steve had to do was wait for the others to get here.

"Jesus Christ- where is she?!"
Lucas paced the living room, checking his watch every few seconds. It was just him and Steve, everyone else was already outside in the pool. Except for Max.
For some odd reason, she ended up being a bit later then expected, and it was driving Lucas crazy.
"Lucas- chill out. She'll be here soon, okay? Maybe she just- got stuck in traffic?" Steve placed a hand on Lucas's shoulder, trying to calm his nerves. It obviously wasn't working.
