"You are alone, child," The woman whispered to the massive crouched shadow, "there is only darkness for you and death for your people. These attacks are just the beginning. I will command a great and terrible army, sail to every city and providence until every light has been extinguished."
A feeble growl arose from the cowering figure. "You can try with all your might, but you will never be free. You are strong, child, but I am beyond strength." The white haired woman turned her blood red gaze away from the crouched beast. It was a dragon, the color of shadow just like them. Was it them?
"I am the end," the woman exclaimed with all the passion of a raving priestess, then their eyes met, "and I have come for you."
The images blurred, went black, and with a startled gasp, Arlan sat straight up.
