 "I'd heard you were back."

Hope sighed and stared up at the silvery blonde haired boy she hadn't seen since... Well, since that night she had transitioned into a wolf in front of him, nine years ago. After Aurora de Martel had been killed, whatever spell she'd put on Harry and Draco to help keep their mouths shut about Hope's werewolf side had worn off. Harry had come back to Hogwarts and had smartly chosen not to ask any questions, but Draco... Well, he'd skipped all of their fourth year, and according to an unreliable source, he'd spend his fifth year at Durmstrang before returning to Hogwarts for his sixth.

"I'm back," Hope nodded.

"For good?" Draco asked.

They were a few miles away from the camping grounds, yet the celebrations following the victory of the Harpies could be heard even from here.

"Maybe," Hope said. "How have you been?"

Draco snorted. "It's nearly been a decade since we've last seen each other, and that's what you come up with?"

"I'm sorry I left without saying goodbye to anyone, but I don't regret leaving," Hope said. "And besides, out of the two of us, you're the one who left first."

"Pardon me for wanting to create some distance between me and the... Whatever you are."

"Were," Hope said.

"You're not that thing anymore?"

"No," she said. "I'm something much worse."

"Right," Draco nodded. "Sure."

"Why did you leave?" she asked. "Harry was there, too, but he came back."

"Well, Potter always was the braver one."

Hope smirked at this. "Could I get that in writing, please? I think I can get a couple hundred galleons for it if I sell it to Harry."

"Shut up, Weasley."

Weasley. It was nice to be called that again. Overseas, she'd already earned a reputation as Klaus Mikaelson's abomination of a daughter. That reputation got her places, of course, and it was nice to be feared- or as she preferred to call it, respected, sometimes- But back here, she was an ordinary Weasley. And she didn't mind it at all.

"So you were afraid of me?"

"Clearly."

"And now?"

"Possibly even more."

They stared up at the sky for a while, watching a few overexcited witches and wizards swiveling around on their broomsticks.

"Astoria Greengrass," Hope said, to which Draco snapped his neck around to stare at her. "How do you know-"

"I have my sources. They say you're happy when you're with her."

"You've been spying on me?" Dracon sputtered. "Since when were you so interested-"

"Oh, relax, it's not as if I went out of my way to get information about you. I was just collecting a simple favor."

"Hope-"

"I'll stop," Hope raised her hands in the air. "But are you? Happy?"

Draco thought for a moment, and then- "I am."

Hope nodded. "Good," she said.

"Is that jealousy in your voice?"

"Shut up, Malfoy," Hope laughed. "No, when I find love, it's going to be with someone like me."

"Like you?"

"Someone..." Immortal, Hope wanted to say. But springing that kind of surprise on an old friend she hadn't seen in nine years wasn't an action one typically took.

Someone immortal. "I don't want to fall in love with someone I'll lose too quickly. I don't think... I don't think I'd be able to cope with the pain." Something that ran in her bloodline, apparently. "I want someone who will be able to stay with me always and forever."

"That's an ambitious dream."

"Shut up, Malfoy."

In the end, what Davina Claire had feared had come true. Hope Mikaelson had become a legend to fear, a creature to loathe. The tribrid beast caused massacres across half of North America, and had once more brought terror into the unforgettable Mikaelson name.

But across the sea, away from New Orleans and Mystic Falls, Hope Weasley was surrounded by her friends, laughing and talking to the people who represented something special in her life- A normal life. Normal as normal could get, despite the flying tables and siblings on broomsticks and disappearing cauldrons.

Yes, she was a Mikaelson. But she was also a Weasley. A girl of two very different worlds. Hope had come far, considering the fact that she'd been pronounced dead within a day of her birth.

A girl of two worlds. She could live with that.

And that was the end of this book! Sorry it took so long to upload, but I had to study for my finals which are at long last over, thank god- I had such fun writing this tvd x hp fic that I decided to write another one, this time starring The Vampire Diaries characters and not The Originals characters; It's called "Who Needs Rules?" and you can go read the first chapter right now :)

Thank you so much for sticking with this book until the end, it was my first crossover fic and I'm really happy with the response it got <3
