Felix is excited even with the 2-hour drive. He knows it is a little too far for comfort. Considering they could go to that one ski resort nearer Seoul, but hey. Jisung organized the whole thing, so he isn't gonna say much. And it doesn't take away the fact that he is gonna go skiing for the first time with his friends. Although he wasn't able to ask who else didn't know how to ski, he'll ask them when he gets there.
"Ummm, take a left? The right? Wait. Fuck," Felix murmurs.
He turns on his signal and slowly drives towards the curb. He's on a highway, but the roads are totally forsaken, save for him.
He grabs his phone and looks at the pinned location Jisung sent him.
"So turn right, in the next, 5, 6, 7, 8, meters, that's the next block. Okay. On XXXX street. Okay. Okay. Got it. Then drive 500 meters up the hill, there's a sign jdajhjkfsuwjksa and hakashkj. Okay," Felix continues in gibberish.
He starts driving again and plays some pop music on his phone to keep him company.
As he's driving up the hill, he notices that his phone data kept going away cause his Spotify buffers from time to time. He quickly switches to offline, then checks the road ahead.
It totally wasn't abandoned at all. There are some buildings, and some convenience stores lined up. He decides to stop and buy some food in case he gets hungry in the middle of the night.
He parks at the next convenience store he sees and shivers when he gets out of the car. He swears it was a lot less cold when he left an hour and a half ago. He feels happy now that he made sure to bring an extra jacket in case it gets very cold at night. He actually brought 2 extra jackets, (in case someone forgot to bring an extra), and a sleeping bag (so they don't need to pay for an extra mattress if the cabin can't provide them with extra mattresses. They can huddle together sure, but what if they only have single beds? The rest of his group aren't tiny), and a blanket.
He buys all the food he wants. Cup ramen, some cup ramen, and then some more cup ramen, and 2 packs of fried noodles. He'll be staying with 7 men and they will steal his ramen if he doesn't get them any. He buys chopsticks just in case. And then sausages for the ramen, and some sliced cheese.
He gets 4 small cartons of milk and 4 chocolate-flavored ones. He contemplates buying soju, but he's not going to need that in the middle of the night, is he?
He goes to the cashier, then pays for his stuff. When the cashier was scanning his piles of cup ramens, they look at him, and Felix smiles as an answer.
He tries to make it as painless as possible, grabs the bags, then rushes to his car because it was getting very fucking cold.
'How can it go like -6 degrees colder than when I went in 10 minutes ago?'
He speeds up to the resort, afraid that his car will break down in the middle of the road from the cold.
Good thing the roads aren't slippery.
He arrives at the resort parking lot, an hour after check-in time. He isn't that late for their meet-up time which is a good thing. And he did text Jisung that he'll be a little late.
He grabs all his convenience store shit, and his fuckton of winter apparel, and walks to the front reception.
He's met with 2 very nice ladies telling him that his cabin mate is at the resort cafe.
The reception tells him to leave his baggage at the reception so they can load it into the cable car for him. They were just waiting for him to arrive.
