First Person POV

I was standing in front of Karasuma in his office at the Ministry of Defense department, my eyebrow twitching sporadically as my girlfriends stood around me trying to use their Nen to comfort me and to hopefully keep me from doing something foolish.

"You... want me... to do... what?" I hissed the last word of my spoken sentence when I got some sort of grip on my currently turbulent emotions.

Karasuma sighed, seeing this reaction coming from a mile away. "Look. I don't like this any more than you do, but I can't dissuade these guys from putting you on the job."

"Why not put Karma or hell, Shiota on the job! At least Shiota has the analytical skills and the prior teaching experience for this sort of thing!" I raised my arms in anger. "Why did they select me of all people to take this job? Even Terasaka would be a better fit for this gig than me!"

Karasuma pinched the bridge of his nose, before answering. "Believe me, I tried to get them to not make you do this, but the higher-ups were very insistent that you take this job."

"And why the absolute hell is that?!" I spat. "Are they even aware of why I am against this idea? Why I immediately hung up on them the second the words UA and All Might came out of their mouth in regards of a new assignment?" I had the distinct feeling Netero put him up to this. I swear if I didn't love the guy as my surrogate grandpa I'd have tracked him down and be strangling him Homer-and-Bart-Simpson style.

"Irina and I have both tried to get that through Netero's  head that you have... bad blood with the Symbol of Peace and his wife," Karasuma tried to placate me as the last time I got this pissed I nearly destroyed the entire office, "plus other Pro-heroes who are under the thumb of the HSPC. But they still kept pushing to put you on the job. Besides that, the fact that you have been mostly inactive with us and the other government agencies so they decided it was time to put you back on the field."

"What? My stints as the Kitsune Vigilante not enough?" I countered heatedly.

"When was the last time since your coronation that you have been back on the field?" Karasuma responded with a raised eyebrow, making me wince slightly at the verbal jab.

"So I went on a vacation. Sue me." I snapped. "After all of the shit I have been through in the last few years even before you guys plucked me out of the heroes' grip after I killed that jag-off Muscular, I'm sure many can agree that I was past due for a little R and R. And do I need to show you the scars on my body that are still healing from all of those fights and beatings from my old man before I ran away?" Karasuma visibly flinched at the mention as he had seen my scars for himself and that was the only time I had seen him look so pale and then so visibly pissed.

"And it wasn't like I spent most of my time twiddling my thumbs, I'll have you know." I continued. "Don't believe me? Call up the Kuzuryu syndicate, the Novoselic royal family, the Crazy Diamonds gang, the leader of DICE, and the Brittanian Emperor. They can all vouch for me as I have been keeping myself up to speed with current events and the like. Not to mention I have made contact with David Shield's kid and she had joined our forces and have been making many support items with my chief inventor to make sure we all can defend ourselves against heroes and villains alike."

"I know that!" He replied just as frustrated. "But there is no way around this. Netero asked me to try and convince you to take the job. With your resume as a hacker, spy, and informant, and not to mention a very versatile fighter, you were the best candidate for the job. And all of our other best agents are either assigned to another job, or they just weren't suitable for the task. And with your schedule being free of anything, that made it mandatory for you to take this assignment."
