2. Guts

Dale was standing on top of his RV, a rifle strapped on his shoulder and binoculars hanging around his neck.

Amy walked through the camp, holding a red bucket as she headed over to Niki and Lori.

Niki looked up. "Any luck?"

Lori held up a silver bowl.

"How do we tell if they're poison?" Amy asked, pouring the mushrooms into the bowl.

"Uh, there's only one sure way I know of," Niki told her, taking the bowl from Lori and picking up a mushroom.

Lori gave Amy a ladle, standing. "Dale, I'm heading out." She looked at Carl, he was playing with his toys. "Sweetheart, I want you to stay where Dale can see you, okay?"

"Yes, Mom," Carl said, nodding.

"You too," Dale told her. "Don't wander too far. Stay within shouting distance. And if you see anything, holler, I'll come running."

"Yes, Mom," Lori said, walking away.

Niki and Amy looked at each other, chuckling.

Lori walked into the woods with the red bucket Amy had been carrying and knelt down to pick more mushrooms. The sound of leaves rustling made her stop, looking back over her shoulder. Lori looked around, cautiously and stood, walking further into the woods.

A twig snapped.

Lori spun around, startled. She looked around, but couldn't see anything. The fluttering of wings and more branches snapping could be heard. Lori continued to search the woods, breathing heavily, thinking maybe she was being followed by a Walker.

After a moment, Lori turned around, only to be pushed to the ground by someone and covered her mouth to stop her from screaming.

Lori struggled for a moment before relaxing, seeing that it was Shane.

"Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh," Shane told her, smiling.

Lori hit him and he moved his hand away, she smiled. "You scared the hell out of me."

"I bet," Shane said. "That's what you get for keeping me waiting. I was trying to be quiet. Where you been?"

"Amy the mushroom queen," Lori replied. "I had to wait for her to get back."

They kissed.

Shane pulled her up. "How much time we have?"

"Enough," Lori told him, unbuckling his belt and unzipping his pants.

Shane removed his shirt and unzipped Lori's jeans, leaning down to kiss and lick her stomach. Lori started moaning and pulled off her shirt. She was wearing her wedding ring on her necklace. Shane stopped and they both stared at the ring for a moment. Lori took off her necklace and put it on the grass next to her. Shane and Lori kissed, starting to moan as they had sex.

A doorknob was being turned.

Inside a dark house, light was leaking in from outside through the closed door.

A newspaper article showed a picture of Rick.
