Smg4 Fanfiction: Meggy's and Tari's shared gift (1/2) - Family

Plot: In this two parter, Meggy and Tari share an experience that will complete their family.

(August 25th - 2029)

Meggy washed her hands in the kitchen sink, sanitising them. She looked in the mirror, looking at her form.

She had too admit, she still looked good. Mother of 3 at 26, first child at 14 but she didn't even have a wrinkle. Of course, that wasn't the biggest part of her changes.

Feeling a twinge in her stomach, she placed a hand upon her belly as the small life within kicked and thrashed.

Meggy: Calm down baby, you'll get your moment soon.

After having their twins, she and Tari thought they were done having children. But a New Years party with wine and some bad decisions led to...this. While they definitely weren't against having anymore children, they didn't exactly plan it out.

Meggy caressed her belly, enjoying what was definitely going to be her last pregnancy. After this, she agreed that both her and Tari were going to the hospital so they could both stop having children.

But about the "Both" part. Well-

Crystal: Mom, where are you?

She was broke out of her trance by Crystal, who walked into the kitchen to find her. Not much had changed about her, aside from having matured a bit and being on of the top student at Omnia academy despite her age.

Meggy: Oh! Sorry Crystal, Mommy was just...thinking.

Crystal: Well, you might wanna get back into the living room, Momma says she needs you.

Meggy: Oh! I totally forgot, sorry! Just..tell her I need a minute, I'll be right there!

Crystal nodded and ran back into the room, Meggy grabbed all the stuff from their medicine cabinet. Grabbing the tin pan and some cleaned Scissors, she ran back into the living room.

In the middle of the room, inside of a circular blow up pool was Tari. She was wearing just a large white T-shirt...that fit over her equally big belly.

Yes, somehow the two had managed to get each-other pregnant at the same time. They'd went to several doctor's and even some scientists, but the best they could figure out was that when a former inkling and a cyborg get together, weird stuff happens.

The two were already 2 weeks overdue and ready to pop, but it seemed that Tari's baby was finally ready to come first. It was close to midnight, but she'd been in labour since before 5am.

Setting down the stuff they'd need later, Meggy brushed Crystal aside and took Tari's hand at her side.

Meggy: It's okay honey, I'm here.

Tari: Ahhhh...oohhh, it hurts...

Meggy: I know it does, just hang on. It'll be over soon.

She stroked Tari's hair as Crystal smiled. Meggy rubbed her belly as she felt another painful ache, brushing it off as Braxton hicks or kicking.

Meggy: Crystal, could you go get-

Crystal: Alice and Emily? Their over there on the couch.

Meggy turned to the other side of the living room and saw the twins, both slumped over on pillows and sleeping away with the Tv still on. They were both now around the age of 6, having taken up Tari's love of ducks and games as well as her own fighting spirit.

Crystal: Do you still want me to-?

Meggy: No, it's okay. We'll wake them when the baby starts coming.

Tari groaned again as Meggy stroked her head, shushing her calmly. She grunted suddenly, then Crystal saw the water ripple.

Crystal: Mom?

Meggy: I think that means her water broke Sunshine. It shouldn't be-

She got cut of by a particularly rough cramp across her belly, having to rub her aching skin.

Crystal: Mom? Is everything alright?

Meggy: Yeah, it's just the baby.

The cramp didn't fade though, getting even more painful. She managed to hide it, but she knew something was happening.

(August 26th - 2:43AM)

Hours passed by and Tari still had yet to deliver her baby after nearly a full day of labour, constantly groaning in pain. She was just glad she had Meggy and Crystal their to comfort her.

Secretly though, Meggy had been having similar pains for a while now. To her, they were coming in 3 minutes gaps and she wondered if her own baby was about to make an appearance.

Leaving Tari and Crystal alone under the guise of going to the bathroom, she locked the door and pulled her pants down, sitting on the toilet.

She performed an internal check, needing to know if she had dilated at all. To her shock, she was at least 7.5cm already.

Meggy: Woah Baby, you really can't wait, can you?

She pulled her pants back up and looked in the mirror, looking like a woman well in the throws of labour. She knew her baby would be here soon, she just hoped that Tari's baby would arrive first.

Crystal: Mom! Mom, get in here quick!

Dropping the momentary freeze, she unlocked the door and ran as fast as she could back to Tari. She was sweating bullets, red in the face.

Crystal: Momma said she's feeling a lot of pressure...something about pushing?

Meggy: Yeah, that means she's about to have the baby Crystal.

Tari: Hoooo....ahhhhh.....I feel it coming Meggy...

Meggy: Shh, Shh. Its okay, your almost their honey, just breath. Crystal, could you go wake up your sisters?

Crystal nodded urgently and moved to the living room. Meggy wiped the sweat from Tari's brow and held her tight through the rest of the contraction, all while powering through and hiding her own pain.

Crystal kneeled on the couch and shook both the twins gently, with Emily being to first to wake up with groggy eyes as Alice moaned in her sleep.

Alice: Mmmmm....

Emily: Ngh...Is it bed time?

Crystal: Afraid not Sis. Look, I need you two awake, Momma's about to have her baby.

Emily's blue eyes went wide immediately, waking up as she shook Alice and encouraged her to do the same.

Once they were up and ready, Crystal brought them back over and gave them footstools since they were shorter then the size of the pool.

Crystal watched from the side and put hands on their shoulders as Meggy smiled at them, looking back at her wife as they both grunted.

Meggy: Okay Tari, when the next contraction comes, I want you to bear down...and push with it!

Tari nodded, then followed up with just that.

As the next contraction came around, Tari took a deep breath and held it as she bore down. Her brow was sweating and her family was encouraging her.

Alice: You've got this Momma!

Meggy: Keep going honey, your doing so well!

Emily: You can do it!

Crystal: Don't force yourself Momma, keep breathing.

The contraction ended as Meggy gave her a check. No significant progress, not even a bulge.

And as she felt her own pregnant belly quaking under her shirt, she knew it was going to be a close call.
