An old person came in and bowed his head at him “beta John, you called for me to check –up on her?”
He was wearing a white gown with a stethoscope hanging around his neck. The man look a bit old, white strands of his hair were evident.
“Yes. Please proceed.”
Silently assessing the man before her.
His name suits him, she thought, and found his eyes very attractive. Forest green eyes complemented his face. Probably his best asset in contrast with his thick eyebrows and eyelashes. His nose was a bit wide but pointy on the end. His lips are pink and full. His jaw line looks strong. Overall, he is a fine piece of a man.
Shaking her head, John was the man she find worth staring at. Of course, he felt her strange stare but brushed it aside.
She turned her stare at the doctor nearing her. She obeyed his words and let him check up on her. She viewed her back to him.
“I wouldn't recommend using too much force, miss. You’re still healing at a slow rate” he started while checking on her wounds.
“How long was I out?”
“Well…about a week. You are malnourished I also recommend you to not skip meals starting today” he paused.
“You don’t have a wolf” it wasn't a question. He stood up and wrote something on his handy clipboard.
A heavy sigh escapes her lips and kept herself silent. Contemplating on whether she'll be judged on this pack too.
The doctor and beta John discreetly expressed their pity, knowing how hard she must have been through.
The doctor cleared his throat to get her attention.
"It's good that you didn't display any shock. Do you have any conditions that I should be aware of?"
"No, I don't think so" shaking her head.
"How about panic attacks or anxiety?"
"No, I don't."
"Hmmm..." he hummed in reply.
Both were informed of how she was abused in her pack and thought that their king was kind enough to help her transfer to their pack. It was unlikely for him to bring in an abused she-wolf.
“You're a strong person, miss Zainne” doctor El blurted out.
“I guess...” shrugging her shoulders.
“I'm impressed with how you were able to function normally after what you've been through.”
“Negative thoughts are not my forte,” giving him a sheepish grin.
While they conversed, beta John was busy conflicting with his thoughts.
I can't quite understand this feeling about this girl. Her aura feels weird.
~I feel it too~ his wolf added.
He shook his head and glanced discreetly towards them.
He brazenly stared at the front door he was now facing. Still pondering the possibilities. Maybe she’s... He slowly pivoted to face them.
“Well, I've read your previous medical records. And don’t worry, in the next five days, you will fully recover” the doctor stated, standing idly in front of her.
“Thank you, doctor…” she stood and embraced him without a thought.
This surprised him. Letting go, she asked.
