Y/N's POV
I screamed and slammed the door shut.
No way, no how-
"Y/N?? what happened?" my father asks as he rushes over.
"I- It's-
"God Y/N, that's not a nice way to greet someone willing to help us!" He sighs and reaches for the doorknob, and I dash upstairs to my room without thinking twice.
Gosh I look HORRIBLE and f*ck this was so embarrassing please lord take me already I judge it's my time to join the heavens- NO- Y/N breath it's nothing, nothing at all you just look like the lockness monster on a bad day but you're fine anyways it's just Park Jimin nothing to freak out about, it's all chill. YOU GO GIRL! yes go me.
I quickly change and freshen up in order to look presentable, and dreadfully make my way downstairs, where I find both males conversing in the kitchen.
"I hope this isn't too much to ask of you, Jimin; I know you've got a lot on your plate."
"Please, Mr Lee, it's not a problem at all to help; it's my pleasure, and knowing my mother, she'd whoop me if I refused, and you know my mother... She's not a woman to mess with," Jimin declares, and my father laughs.
"She's not for sure," my father sighs as he places a hand on Jimin's shoulder.
I make myself known by coughing as I walk over to them, and both of their heads turn around.
"Y/N! It was about time, so you two already know each other, why haven't you told me? Jimin is like a son to me," my father says, putting Jimin in a headlock and ruffling his hair, which causes me to smile.
"He's in my first class, but we haven't talked much, so..."
"Of course, why not? You two are exactly the same, sooooo shy"my father continues to make me feel awkward, he seems to appreciate Jimin a lot, and he's never spoken so freely around me, it's always small talks and awkward conversations, but the sight makes me happy.
Ever since I moved here I never tried to bring out the whole "oh you left when I was 4 and never came back for me" topic because for some reasons I don't really wanna know, at the moment at least. He's doing a good job at taking care of me, how do I know ? because I know what's not being treated well is like. I'm not saying I'm gonna act like nothing happened, but I just know that my dad is a kindhearted man, I could feel it the second I saw him after all this time, even though he's basically a stranger to me. I'll let time do it's thing and I believe someday we will get to talk about it when the timing is right, but I feel just so happy and content at the moment, I think I deserve it for at least a little while.
"I'll leave you two to your work because you both know there's a lot to do, so let's not waste any time."
"I have to go out for the day, so have a nice day kids and don't have too much fun," my father says as he puts on his coat and bids a final goodbye before leaving the house, leaving me and Jimin awkwardly standing in the middle of the kitchen.
"I guess we should get started," I say, and he nods in agreement. We both go out to the backyard in silence and get to work.
We both remain silent for a while, each on our own side doing our own thing, and I occasionally glance at him.
Even covered in dirt, he looks handsome; some people are just born lucky, and YES, I am jealous.
"Hey, I just wanted to apologise for slamming the door in your face. You really surprised me, and I hope no offence was taken," I break the silence, and he looks at me with a small smile tugging at his lips.
"No worries," he says, pausing whatever he was doing to wipe the dirt off his clothes.
"Hey.. Do you want to eat something? It's lunchtime," he asks, making my heart pound in my chest.
Y/N, ACT COOL, ACT COOL!
"Sure"
You go, girl, you nailed that.
"How does McDonald sound like?" he suggests, and my heart nearly bursts.
MCDONALDS? MY FAVORITE FAST FOOD AND HIM, PLEASE WAKE ME UP RIGHT NOW IF THIS IS A DREAM.
"YES!!"I say it a little too enthusiastically, making him jump.
"Huh, I mean, it sounds great," I say, my cheeks flaming up.

"So... how did you meet my dad? "I ask, hoping to start up a discussion, and he smiles as he reminisces.
"He's my mother's best friend... He's always been around as far as I can remember," he says, without saying anything else.
This guy isn't a talker; I can't say I'm any better, but once I get a little comfortable, I'm unstoppable, as is the case right now.
"Do you want to be friends?" I ask, and his eyes widen.
"Sure," he says, and I smile.
"You know I feel like we were meant to meet"I say and he raises a questioning brow.
"I mean, you can't tell me this isn't strange; we met first because we are seat mates, and now you're telling me you're a family friend, and you show up at my door this morning, and you're telling me it's coincidence?" Nah, this is fate," I finish, and he shrugs in agreement, a playful grin on his face.
"How do you feel about this fateful meeting?" he asks, and I feel a wave of warmth wash over me.
God, the way he speaks...
"I'm puzzled, to say the least."
"Why is that?"
"Well.. I guess I'm just intrigued of what you'll bring into my life and what you'll become to it"
"What if I'm a bad outcome?" he asks, his eyes filled with unreadable emotion.
"I'm sure I'll be disappointed," I say, and he only slightly blushes as he looks down at his unfinished burger.
"I'll be disappointed too."
