StudentA: Hey, have you heard about the student missing cases?
StudentB: Uwa, what?
StudentA: Well, the missing posters are everywhere, our school probably couldn't hide this for long.
StudentB: I wonder what happened to them.
That's what has been rumoured among students at NRC for days since the first missing case. Some said they were kidnapped and killed, some said those went back home and got into secret organizations, but the most popular of all must be them being drained all of their magic and buried somewhere in this school. The principal is taking care of this, but nothing seem to have improved since then.
Y/n is also one of the students that's highly interest in the missing cases, but she's just a normal student with no magic. The teachers all agreed that she should not involved in this and to make sure about her safety, she was sent to live with other students at Heartslabyul. However, this couldn't stop Y/n from getting to know the truth. When the clock strikes midnight, Y/n let Grim sleep and sneaked out, tried her best to not get caught. Just like the previous night, nothing. No clues, no signs of the students asking for help, no nothing. The moment she felt like this is getting nowhere, the rustle sound from not so far got her attention. She carefully lighted her way with the flashlight so she wouldn't trip over any object that's in her way. The tall grass partly blocked her visual so it's ten times harder to see in the dark with only a flashlight in her hand. She parted the grass, steadily got nearer to whatever is making the sound, hoping it won't harm her. There it is, a creature covered in white fur, lying in an area of burned grass. It is bleeding nonstop.Y/n: A puppy?
The creature knows danger is coming, it's growling unconsciously, making the bleeding worse than it already is. Y/n put the flashlight next to it, ripped her uniform to bandage the poor thing. It bit her the moment its eyes opened, its sharp teeth dig deeper onto her hand. Ignoring the pain, Y/n continues to treat the white creature's wound. Knowing Y/n has no ill will, it let go of the girl's hand, licking it after. The moment the very first rays of the morning sun started to appear, the strange creature fully gained its consciousness and ran away.
Another night went to waste, Y/n exhaustedly sneaked into her room, with Grim still lying peacefully in his spot.Y/n: Trey-senpai, can you help me with my uniform?
Trey: W-what is this... a dirty and torn rag? Also, what happened to that hand of your?
Y/n: Come on.. it's not that bad senpai. Grim chew my clothes and bit me in his sleep. He probably thought that I was some kind of food..
Trey: Sure, I'll help.
Y/n: Thanks senpai! You're the best!
Y/n's back bumped into a tall figure, she turned around to say sorry but was shocked by the threatening look on their face.
Y/n: S-sorry..
Anyone could tell that Y/n was totally pale. The man simply walked away, leaving Trey and Y/n behind.
Y/n: I said sorry though.
Trey: He probably wouldn't mind.
Y/n: Do you know who he is, senpai?
Trey: Judging from the look, that must be Jack Howl, first year student. He's in the Track and Field club, this year's star. He's super good at it, why won't you come and see him competing once?
Y/n: Ehhhh... Not interested, but I'll go and take a look.
Trey: Make sure to return before dinner!
Trey was right, he was awesome, him and Leona on the same team is just invincible. The audiences screamed in excitement every time the two lead the game. The match eventually ended, on her way back to Heartslabyul, Y/n was blocked by Jack, still in PE uniform.
