I was putting away my things in my locker, until I noticed Jake talking to junior and lexy. He was holding a good guy doll. He is weird but in a special way. I like that about him. I finally decided to talk to him.

"Hi. I like your doll." I say. He jumps from the sudden words but turns to look at me.

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you!" I say, rubbing the back of my neck. He chuckles.

"It's okay. Hey we don't really talk much." Jake says.

"Do you want to change that?" I ask shyly.

"Yeah. You seem like a really cool guy." Jake responds with a hint of blush evident on his cheeks. I giggled.

"Can I join you at lunch?" I ask. He nods.

"Well I'll see you in class." He says. We both wave and go to class.

~time skip to ms Fairchild's class~

We were supposed to dissect the frogs. I was shaky but I managed. I noticed Jake's. My eyes widen at the gory sight. Suddenly my phone gets a notification. Everyone else's does to we all pull out our phones to look. It was a go fund me for Jake. My heart sank. How could someone do something like this. Everyone else was laughing except for Jake, Devon, ms.fairchild and I. I didn't find it funny at all. Class was over and Lexi had to stay after class. I walked up to Jake.

"Hey, are you okay?" I ask him.

"I'm fine!" He says, slight anger in his tone. I just kind of looked away.

~time skip to lunch~

I see Jake sitting alone. I joined him. I smiled at him as I took a seat across from him.

"Hey " I say.

"Oh uh hey. Look I'm sorry for getting mad earlier. It's not you it's Lexi." He says.

"No don't apologize. I understand." I say. He smiles and scratches the back of his head. We talked during the entire time. I got to know him a lot more. Later after school we walked home together.

"Well this is my stop. I'll see you tomorrow." Jake says. Before he leaves I hand him a small piece of paper. He opened it. Blush began to spread across his adorable face. I just chuckled and left. It was my phone number.
