God how you wished that you could disappear. The cheering of your classmates was becoming overwhelming to you, and if you heard one more screeching noise from Kaminari you swore you were going to manually remove your ears. Was it the nerves that were getting to you? No, it couldn't have been, right?

You defeated countless villains during your time at U.A., you couldn't let one person get you this on edge. He was so special though, from his first victory scream on the beach to his recent fight with some knockoff villain, Midoriya was a prodigy in your eyes. It made you feel inferior to him. During your time with him, you watched him train with All Might down by the forest, next to U.A. Where the trees touched the sky and the leaves swirled down to the grass that had the early mist of dew on them.

It broke your heart when All Might put those words in you. "You and Midoriya are always together, reminds me of when me and my friend would roam the streets of New York! Hero and sidekick fighting hand and hand." Yes, a sidekick was what you were referred to, not even a grade C hero, a sidekick who stands at the hero's side while they save the day. Looking back on it, All Might most likely had no ill intention, the old man was reminiscing about his old friend that he left behind so many years ago.

Maybe you were being sensitive, so you tried to brush off his remarks and continued training with Midoriya. However, the feeling didn't go away, it never went away. The opposite happened, his words seeped into your wound and infected the thing that made you, you. A drama queen they would call you. A drama queen that couldn't take light-hearted commentary. He had this attitude with you a lot, saying how you would always be at his side and how you would always help if need be. So to simmer this down, he saw you as a tool for Midoriya's success. But like you thought before, you were probably being too sensitive.

"Hello?" Jirou emphasized. Your head lifted and your eyes drifted towards Midoriya, who was already in the circle. "Aizawa called you up, good luck." You didn't want to be a sidekick, even when you were with Midoriya you feared that you would be labeled as Midoriya's girlfriend and not just by your name. You didn't want your career to end and crash down in the blink of an eye. So with a step of your foot and determination in your eyes, you went in the circle with hopes of defeating your number one competitor.

Your eyes synced up with Midoriya as you waited for Aizawa to lay down the final fight of the day. "Don't push your limits you two, I know how you operate. I won't hesitate to erase your quirks," he warned. With a nod of your head and another from Midoriya, you stood your ground and held your tongue. You both knew that the fight would be fair, but it wouldn't hurt to give him some incentive to let his guard down.

He could easily win but what was the fun in that when you were here? Aizawa started the fight without any preamble whatsoever. The instant you touched each other's skin the match began. It was a battle of brute strength, nothing like you ever dealt with before.

You sent several bolts of light his way in an attempt to hit him. He easily dodged, the bolts bouncing off into space and exploding behind a wall on the other side of the arena. His eyes glowed with an unnatural intensity as he stared at you. The look in his eyes told you everything you needed to know. Midoriya had some unspoken words he wanted to speak out – but what? What was there to say?

You had nothing planned for that fight today, just like every other day when the two of you were pitted against each other. But this wasn't quite like the other matches where you had been evenly matched or even slightly better than the last time, no... this one felt different. More intimate.
