"jolyne ! hey."
"oh shit y/n !"
"who's this ? never told me you had a brother."the girl's brow raised as she looked up at the man. the man's reaction was quite... underwhelming. "that's my dad." and the older woman's eyebrows raised a little at her answer. "oh ! mr.kujo ! im so sorry." she laughed and he hummed. "it's fine. i assume you met jolyne in prison."
"it's not ideal but... yeah." she laughed it off and jolyne gagged before walking off. "stop flirting with my dad." she yelled and y/n only laughed before looking up at the man. "well, i'll be on my way." she smiles and at him and begins to walk away. "wait."
his voice was demanding yet soft. something she would like to hear more often. "hmm ?" she turned to him, he looked at her gorgeous eyes. their eye shape, the color of her eyes. "jolyne told me a bit about you... i wanted to ask if we could talk some day." she gave him a warm smile and pulled her phone out. "oh, yeah sure, let me get your number ?"
he nodded and put it in her phone, she sent him a little text to test it out and they saved each other's numbers in their contacts. they shared their farewells and went their separate ways. y/n going home and jotaro to go follow jolyne to god knows where she wants to go.
. . .
a few days pass, it's a little colder. jotaro and y/n have been texting back and forth, usually just good mornings, sharing things they found funny on the internet and telling one another about their days. so today, y/n's meeting up with him for coffee. she had a f/c scarf on and a black jacket. she saw jotaro through the window of the cafe he suggested, his coat and scarf on the back of his chair and he was looking out of the window to the side, possibly looking for something.
she walks in, the bell's ringing catching jotaro's attention. he gave a little two finger wave and she smiled, returning the gesture as she makes her way to his table. "hey." she says, removing her jacket and scarf to reveal a f/c sweater. "hey." he gave her a small smile. they ordered their drinks and little pastries. "y'know, you remind me of someone i used to be friends with." he suddenly says and she hums at this.
"used to ?" she tilted her head, drink in hand. "yeah, you would have been able to meet him." she furrowed her brows and immediately understood. his forced smile was enough to imply what he meant. "oh, jotaro, i'm so sorry." she reached over the table and took his hand in hers, running her thumb across his knuckles. "don't be." be looked up at her with a soft expression.
"you wanna talk about something else ?" she suggested and he nodded, she slowly retracted her hand and thought of something. "oh ! do you possibly like true crime documentaries ?" she asked and he shook his head. "never really cared for them, all it is to me is showing the sick bastards that do sick things for their own gain."
"that's one way to really look at it, but i do, it's interesting to hear about the shit that can drive a person to do what they do." she explains and he listens intently, leaning his elbow on the table, clasping his hands together. "are you saying you feel bad for them ?" his question shocked her a little. "not really, i would if i's known what they went through before knowing the shit they did."
"you're strange."
"i know."she giggled a little, giving him a little wink. "you should watch them with me some day." he shrugged humming quietly. "i'll consider it." her smile grew brighter as the conversation went better than expected. "cases where the killers only want attention really make me upset." she tells him and he hums in agreement. "it's good to know that jolyne wasn't going to turn out like them."
"if you don't mind me asking, what exactly do you mean by that ?" she asked and he chuckled a little, looking out of the window. "i wasn't able to really be there for her. it started with visiting, then phone calls to her not wanting to talk to me at all." her face softened as she let out a little awe. "but fortunately she understood when she gave me chance to talk to her."
"this is so sweet." her lips pouted and she felt as if her eyes were watering up. "all i know is that her mother doesn't want to see me." he shrugged and looked back over to her. he only gave her a little chuckle. "but, she's a strong woman so i don't have to worry much about her. i already got a mini version of her."
"you know you really do sound like a father, it's cute." a little bit of pink dusted his cheeks. he waved her off, making the woman laugh at his shyness. she wanted to be a mother but, when she was with her ex she had found that she was infertile. her heart broke at the news but she didn't let it get to her. "you okay ?"
"huh ? oh yeah, i was just thinking..." she trailed off, he saw the look on her face and he hesitated, but asked anyways. "what about ?" his voice was soft and she took a deep breath. "i wanted a child. but unfortunately i can't have one. but on the bright side, i found myself treating jolyne and her friends as such when were were y'know, locked up and such."
"oh... sorry for asking."
"don't be ! it's not like that was all i wanted.""if anything i'm glad i was able to meet them." she smiled brightly. he then begins to ask a question that pondered in his mind since they met. "how did you get in there in the first place ?" she snickered a bit and leans her head on her hand. "believe it or not, i was framed too. but unlike jolyne's case, unfortunately i don't know who did it."
the pair continues to talk, once the sun sets a little they decide to head out. now they're just walking next to one another in a comfortable silence. "are you going to be okay getting home by yourself ?" she asked considering how cold it's gotten, by now they've reached her apartment building. "i'll be fine. don't worry about me." he gives her a little smile.
"i know, i just... kinda didn't want you to go just yet." she laughed and he chuckled. "but i won't hold you up any longer, it was nice, jotaro. thank you." he hummed and nodded at her. he then turned to walk away with a little wave. "night." he says.
"WAIT !" she yelled after him and ran to catch up to him. once he turned around she had grabbed his hand and pulled him down a little to peck his cheek. "good night." her lipstick printed onto his cheek, leaving a perfect mark. as she saw, she giggled and smiled, waving as she ran back. he only watched her in surprise before turning back with a little smile.
