CHAPTER ONE.

SUMMER LEFT JUST AS QUICK as it had come. Kentrell and Amir both having pretty progressive summers. One maybe just a little more progressive than the other.

They'd both spent time with friends, stayed out longer than what they'd normally, went to parties, picked up a few new hobbies, and even dropped a few bad habits.

They wanted to enjoy the last bit of freedom they had before life hit them with a rude awakening, and though they both had lots of fun, there were a few new updates in thier lives.

Kentrell now had a job, and was slowly starting to find himself. He'd been hired at the local mall, in a Footlocker, and he'd actually been enjoying it.

The pay wasn't the best but he was making alot of money through commissioned sales, which didnt happen to be a problem for him, especially with the ladies.

They looked at him as eye candy, and him being flirtacious in nature, had everybody from the baddest bitches, to thier grandmas, coming up out of their pockets, effortlessly.

It was too easy.

The job came with its pros and cons, but the pros were definitley outweiging the cons. Kentrell feeling intune with himself when he was at work, his coworkers making his job fun, and worthwhile.

He was cordial with everyone, but the main people he'd gotten close to were his supervisor, Bianca, and another team member, Sheyaa.

They all seemed to have bonded very quickly, their personalities feeding off of each other, the vibe never dull when the three were in each other's presence.

Kentrell was the more reserved out of the three. He didn't like people— particularly the unfamiliar people like the customers who'd come into the store. He felt like he had to pretend like he was friendly for them when he knew for a fact he was not.

He hated giving the fake smiles and putting on the customer service voice, when he knew good and well he was far from the person he had to pretend to be on the clock, but for the sake his money, he was gonna fake it till he made it, and it was definitely working.

If he knew that making money, would've been this easy, he would've started working a long time ago. Bianca being the one who'd looked out for him and pulled his application as she'd seen his efforts to be employed.

He was beyond grateful for her, because if it hadn't been for her kindness, he'd probably still be in the same place he was two months ago— stuck and questioning his purpose.

Though Kentrell had only worked with her for a little over a month, the two had become good friends. Bianca was the one he knew he could call on for sure if anything went wrong, or something was bothering him on the job, especially with her being a higher up.
