The West family grew up next door to the Wheeler house. They were a quiet & calm family. Alani was a nice and fragile girl, her mother thinks "don't drop her, she'll smash." she grew up liking Madonna, Kate bush & Michael jackson! Alani was a top A+ student. She hung around boys, she didn't really mind after all, the boys weren't your typical "boys" these boys played D&D and liked Arcade games. She didn't really like any of them in a romantic way, her best friend. Will Byers was a quiet boy aswell, Alice and his mom Joyce had a nice bond. Her father, Johnny didn't mind her hanging around them. He knew she liked girls. I mean isn't it obvious??
Alani liked the smell of gas tanks & roses. She was perfect you could say... But she did have her personal problems, as she was growing up into a young lady she had gotten her Period. She once went to the pools with Will. She was on her period and she leaked, Will knew, but being the great friend he got her a towel and told her. All the girls made fun of her and the Ladies being a lifeguard flipped them off.
You were so paranoid and embarrassed to even go out for weeks, it became a habit but now Alice & her go to the pools for a night swim on tuesday afternoons. She became confident again. She wasn't that shy, but if it was around someone new she would.
In 1983, Will Byers went missing. It became the hot topic for weeks & months, Joyce was stressed and Alani was so upset she even visited Joyce for a few nights to keep company to Jonathan and her. Joyce loved Alani like the daughter she never had. Alani and her friends went looking for days, along the way they meet a particular young girl, named "Eleven." but they called her El for short.
As soon as Will was found, Alani & him became close then ever. Alani told him all stories about what happened. They had fun times. That was til he started acting funny again..

Her older sister, Alicia. Was a raging girl lover, i'm telling you she listens to punk and rock music. Blasts it in her room 24/7. It got irritating to whoever was at the house. But Will didn't mind since he was over there a lot, it was the same with Jonathan.
Alicia had her hookups. She only had one with a boy named Luke but after that she knew she wasn't interested in boys. That's when in 1986 she started dating Robin Buckley.
1984. Woah, it was a tough year. I'm saying leech like things, fighting off creatures from other dimensions, but isn't that normal for Hawkins.. * awkward laugh *
There was new faces this year, Alani met this girl named Max mayfield. She was a red head, a very beautiful one too. There was a couple of times were they made eye contact, it was funny because they had never talked. They had 3 classes together, English, Math & Science. Max & Alani got pared together for a project it was a cool experience, Alani fell first, but Max fell harder.
Max's older step brother who she barley ever talked to, Billy hargrove. Yeah he was attractive but Max was hotter.
As soon as the Snowball came around, Max suddenly asked Alani to the dance, she was a nervous wreck doing that but Alani said yes! of course she would. It was beautiful, Max kissed Lani. Max made a new nickname for Alani, "Lani" and "Lala" for Will & family.
Will and Lala could relate to each other, Will had a big secret that only Lala knew.
He liked boys.! Lala would always support him, he always gave her the support so why don't she give him the time and place for him.
Lala made older friends like Steve fucking HARRIGHTON!! you heard me, Dustin invited Lala on a little adventure and there he was, Steve.
"Hey ain't you Alicia's little sis??" Steve said... Wow what a great greeting. "Yes, i am." Lala said.
It was a struggle. Dustin had a new "pet" named Dart.. It was a tough thing to believe but trust the process.
