Sm- Ye kya hai?

He said holding the ultrasound reports.

She kept her gaze down and avoided his words.

Sm- Patralekha?

His eyes had become red and teary.

He went towards her and slowly lifted her face up and cupped her face.

Sm- I'm really happy Patralekha!
I can't tell how I'm feeling right now!
We are going to be parents.
Are you not happy?

He looked at her confusedly.

She stole the gaze as always.

Sm- I really want to talk Patralekha!

P- Huh? You talk too?

She said lifting her face looking at his red eyes.

K- Patralekha Bhabhiiiii?

Karishma came running with the sweet Box.

He took his hands back.

K- Dada! Kaisa laga surprise? Kaha tha na bahut khush honge.

He just smiled.

K- Ye mai aapke liye laayi thi. Celebration ab tak to hua nahi tha, par ab hum godbharai plan kar rahe hain. Aur ye mithai lijiye. Baby ke baba.

Sm- Thank you, Par mujhe nhi chahiye abhi.

K- Koi nahi, Chaliye bhabhi, apko kaku bula rahi hain.

She nodded and went with her.

He kept standing there with the reports.

At this time he could not understand his feelings himself.
Somewhere he was happy that he was going to be a father, the other where the news was a gloom.

Her dreams had broken, making him break even more.

He kept looking at the reports like a maniac. It was a shame for him to leave her distressed in such a state.

All he could recall now were the days post his marriage, and offcourse after the Sangeet night.

He touched his cheek remembering the haldi moment and smiled.

The day was passing like sand.
The dusk had come again.

There hadn't been a moment when he didn't try to talk to her. But all that he got was her ignorance.

It was night time when he had retired to his room and found her sleeping keeping a book on her belly.

He smiled and walked towards her and picked the book.
It was all about pregnancy.

He chuckled and sat on the bed covering her with the sheet.

He read a page, another page and finally half of the book biting his nails.

Sm- That's scary though!
Childbirth?? Oh shoot!
Nooo...My Patralekha!

He held her hand lightly and then removed it.

He started going through the end pages of the book when she took the book from him and kept it aside.

P- Meri book hai! Don't touch it!
And mere paas mat aana. Samjhe?

She spoke in sleep and again slept.

He chuckled and picked the pillow at instant taking the sofa.

Sm- Apka hukum sar aankhon par Rani Sahiba. Shubh Ratri!

He closed his eyes and slept.

It was 2 am at night when his sleep was disturbed.

The room light was on and she was nowhere to be seen.

He checked the washroom and the corridor. Found it empty, and barged out of the door.

He searched for her in the whole house which was dark.
All he could hear was the dogs' bark.

He turned the torch light on.
And moved towards the kitchen.

As he entered the kitchen all he could see was the face covered with chocolate with the kitchen in haze.

Sm- Chocolate?

He turned the lights on.

Sm- Wo bhi choron jaise.

She turned her face and finished the last piece of her chocolate.

Sm- Teen plates?

He said holding his head.

Sm- Aur ye ice cream bowls?

P- Tumhe bhi chahiye?

Sm- Patralekha, you are spoiling your health.

P- Who cares? Jeene ke to din chaar! Aao karlein chocolate se pyaar!

She said washing her hands.

Sm- Waise, you could call me too.
I wanted a scoop of the chocolate ice cream. And...

Before he could continue his words she fled from there munching on the potato chips again.

He followed her till she got into the room.

He locked the room door.

Sm- Patralekha I am sorry.

He said holding her hands firmly.

P- Leave me Samrat.

Sm- I know, you don't like me touching you.
I know, you don't like me being around you.
I know, you were trying to bury the past.
I was the one who spoilt everything.
But please give me one chance Patralekha.
Just one chance. I'll never do that all again. If you say I'll leave alcohol forever.
I...I will always stand by you.
Please Patralekha.
I really love you.

Both were looking at each other's eyes filled with the tears.

She turned around freeing herself and covered herself with the sheet again.

In no time she was off to the deep sleep.

He laid beside her softly caressing her hair patting her cheeks.

Sm- I'll win you back, Patralekha!
I will surely win your heart back.

He said closing his eyes keeping his hand on her belly caressing his baby being which she barred for the whole day.

And soon he too slept.
