Chapter 5

He still loves me? Well, that's impossible. I left him before and I know that he doesn't believe in second chances. He said that if you did something once, you can do it again.

I stopped thinking about the thought that I might bumped with him one of this days. But he has a lot of connections, right? But why did he only found out about me only after 4 years? Maybe he didn't looked for me.

I told Zach about the message I receive last night and he said that maybe I should talk to him formally. He said that it has been years and maybe I should give him a closure. But what if he doesn't want closure? What if he wants to be with me again? What if he want to take my son?

A lot of what ifs.

But Mark doesn't know about my son yet. And I won't tell him. What if his mom don't want my son and treats him like a bastard? If that ever happens, I will fight for my son this time. I may have keep my self before but now, I don't care anymore. She can hurt me but not Marko.

I was on my desk in the office when my boss came in. He was wearing a suit which looks good on him. Mr. Smith has been my boss for almost 3 years. He's already 56 years old and he treats me like a daughter.

I left my son with Zach at my house. He said that since he doesn't have a project today, he'll just look after my son

"Good morning,Sofia. Do you have the files that I need for my meeting later" He ask.

"Good morning, Sir. Yes, I have it already, I'll just bring it in your office later." I said and he went to his office.

Smith's Shipping Line is owned by Mr. Richard Smith and his wife, Mrs. Leila Smith. They have 3 children, Andrew, Andrea and Ally. They are all kind to me. They are professional inside the office but outside, they treat me like a family.

Ally Smith is my best friend but she is currently in Paris. She's studying there. I met her before here in the company. She admitted before that she befriended me because she wanted to help his brother to get me.

Andrew liked me, I mean likes because he still does. But Ally said that after a few weeks, she decided to befriended me because she thinks I'm kind.

I never entertained Andrew because he's one of my boss and I wanted to respect his family and to be professional too. But he said that he likes me and will wait for the right time. He's now staying on the second branch of their company.

That's why I feel guilty because I allow Zach to court me. But my relationship with Zach is different because first, he's my best friend, second, he loves my son, third, he's not my boss, fourth, he's not super rich, yes, he's a model but he doesn't really takes it seriously at some times. He wanted to have a small restaurant and wants a simple life.

I walk towards the pantry to prepare his coffee. He wanted his coffee very hot so I only prepare it once he's inside his office. I took all the files that he needs and knocked on his door.

"Come in." He said and I enter his office. I put the coffee on his table with the files.

"These are all the files that you need, Sir. I'll go to the conference room now, so I can prepare the projector already." I said and he nodded.

Mr. Smith wants me to be in the conference room whenever there is a meeting. He wants me to take down notes because sometimes, he forgets some information that are mentioned.

After a few minutes, Mr. Smith came on the room.

"Sofia, please prepare everything for this meeting. I need to win this investment. It would be a great help for the company." He said and I just nodded. He looks so nervous and this is the first time that I saw him so tensed maybe it's a big deal.

5 minutes later, other board members came and we're just waiting for the investors. Its already 11 minutes past 9 and they're not yet here. And, I felt that those investors knew that they're important, so they took their time.

There are soft knocks on the door and it opened. Mr. Fujiwara, another board member, 's secretary came and I was shocked to knew who she is with.

My jaw dropped and I felt my heart beating fast.

"Excuse me, Sirs. Mr. San Miguel is here with his secretary." She said and left before closing the door.

"Good morning. I'm sorry I'm late." Mark said and he looks around the room. His eyes land on me and he smirked.

He took a sit and the meeting started. All I understand is that Mark also have a shipping company. And he wants to invest. I was just sitting here on the side on the room, listening as Mr. Smith was proposing the possible outcome of his investment.

I looked at Mark and he was just staring at me. I looked at Mr. Smith whose talking in front and she was just looking at Mark. I looked around and saw his assistant whose carefully listening and taking notes down.

Mr. Smith was done and Mark looked at him.

"I'll invest here if the girl sitting there, would tour me around this company." He said while seriously looking at my boss.

Everyone looked on the chairs on the side where me and Jenna, Mr. Miller's secretary, are sitting.

"Are you referring to Mr. Smith's secretary of Ms. Jenna?" One of the board members asked.

I know for the fact that Jenna is much skinnier and younger than me. She's skinnier since she don't have a child yet.

"I am referring to my wife?" He said and I was shocked with the "Wife". Damn. No one knows about my past and I am using Gutierrez, not San Miguel. Even his secretary looked on our way with her jaw dropped open.

"Wife?" Mr. Smith asked, and he's shocked.

Damn him. I give mark a "don't-say-it-or-i'll-kill-you look". He answered my boss' question with another questions.

"So is it okay if she will do the honors?" Mark asked and before my boss say anything, I stood up.

"It's okay, Sir. I'll show him around?" I said.

"Okay. I'll invest here. My secretary will email the information to you." he said and he went outside.

I looked to my boss and he smiles. He mouthed "thank you" and I left the room. I know that he was confused about the "wife" thing earlier but I just looked at him and mouthed "I'll explain later"

Mark's secretary follows and I was shocked when I saw her cling on his arm.

What? I felt my heart sank.

Is that his new girlfriend?

Is he up for revenge?
