Even though Yerim was blindfolded, her hands held firmly behind her back, the moment she heard the door open, a blast of cool air hitting her face, she knew where they were. It was the familiarity of the bell that rang everytime a new customer walked in and the distinct smell of disinfectant overpowering the sweeter scent of fresh flowers that immediately told her she was at her mom's nursing home.

She knew the text she got from Jungkook this morning - sorry, but I'm positive you'll like what I planned for you - had sounded ominous. She knew she should've just followed her gut reaction and stayed behind. The thing was, her friends had been persistent, and after ten minutes of arguing, she finally gave in. Worst case, he was going to fly her to the sky and dive with her.

But, of course, Jungkook was full of surprises.

"Are we going to go see my mom?" she deadpanned.

Silence, then: "I told you that a blindfold wouldn't work," That was Jimin.

Yerim frowned. Irene and Jimin had said that this was part of Jungkook's birthday surprise for her, so why, out of all the places in the world, would they be here? The more she thought about it, as she shuffled down what she could tell was the reception area and then the hallway, the more she grew uncomfortable. She doubted her friends were going to the "wrong" place. However, how did Jungkook know this place? It was too much of a coincidence that her mom was being taken care of here. And she had never heard of a world where surprise parties were thrown at nursing homes for fun.

She stopped walking, her decision so abrupt that both Jimin and Irene bumped into her. "What's happening?" she asked, her voice tight. "Why are we here?"

Irene's voice was soft when she replied. "Jungkook planned something for your mom, but don't worry. We supervised him the whole way."

"Yeah." Jimin squeezed her shoulder. "We made sure that your mom was always comfortable."

"You what?" Yerim practically screeched, whirling around. She didn't bother untying the blindfold because she knew they had done a triple knot; she just hoped she was facing them and not the wall. "What does my mom have to do with this?"

"We told Jungkook about your mom."

Yerim had suspected that fact since the moment she walked in and figured out where she was. Nonetheless, she didn't know whether to throttle Jimin to death for doing something so stupid or find Jungkook and throttle him to death for even daring to do something like that. Why would Jungkook need that knowledge? Why didn't he just ask her? In the back of her mind, she knew she was being irrational. What was he going to do? Kill her mom? Humiliate her in front of a crowd?

Yet: "This was the 'well-thought out plan'?" she practically snarled.

"I know you're mad, and we're sorry for telling him without your permission," Irene said, "I promise, though, that we wouldn't do this if your mom could be harmed in any way."

That sapped all the fight out of her body.

Irene was right.

They were her friends, and Yerim would be an asshole if she ever doubted them. After all, if they did have malicious intentions, then they would've done it ages ago, when Yerim had told them about her mom with teary eyes and sniffling noses.

She exhaled. "Okay, I'm sorry for overreacting. It's just that..."

"We know, and we completely understand." Yerim felt Irene step closer and then she felt Irene's arms wrap around her body. "Trust us. You're going to love this."
