We arrived at Camp Nou. I parked my car and got out. I picked Davi up and placed him on my hip. I locked the car.
"Ready?" Marissa asked walking up to me.
"Yeah, can you just hold this for me." I said handing her my purse.
She nodded and we started walking into the stadium. The paparazzi or the fans weren't here yet so it wasn't as hectic just yet.
We made it inside and a guard guided Marissa and I pitch side to the seats.
Shakira, Milan, Anna and Thiago were already here. The guys were not on pitch yet. They were probably getting ready for the game and changing into their kits.
We went over and took our seats we were all talking but I was more so stuck in my thoughts. Thoughts of one particular person.
Ok, Abby. How are you going to tell him?
That's true, how was I going to tell Neymar? I had just come to realize that the years that we had missed being together were apart of my hardships. I have this inner guilt that will always kind of be here forever. I mean I'm the heartless monster that kept a father from his son and a son from his father. If someone were to do that to me I don't know if I could do without wringing someone's neck. Davi is my life and he will always be.
"Mamà?" Davi said snapping me out of my thoughts.
He waddled over to where I was sitting and stood in front of my knees. I looked at him and smiled. I grabbed both his hands and held them in mine.
"Yes, my darling?" I said. I admired how adorable and handsome he looked in his father's kit. Wearing his name and number on his back. It made me content.
"Where's papai?" He asked with a curious look. This boy cannot bear without him can he?
Neither can you Abby.
"He's probably changing into the same thing you're wearing." I said to him.
"Davi, can I ask you something?"
He nodded.
"Do you hate mamà?" I asked softly. What? I had to know. Even if it was coming from a two year old. I wanted to know.
"Why would I hate mamà? She's the best. My best friend." He said smiling. I brought both his little hands that were in mine to my lips and gave them a kiss.
"You're not mad that I kept you from magic man?" I asked.
He shook his head. "You said magic man was buying me a present and that he would come. You also told me that he loves me. You were right mamà." He said smiling.
My eyes were watering up. How could a child that is merely one almost two, make use of his minimal vocabulary in the most influential way? I pulled him in for a hug and let a few tears slip. I quickly wiped them away.
"Mamà, I know what I want for my birthday." He mumbled.
I pulled him away from the hug and gave him a curious look. I raised my eyebrows teasingly. "Honey, you've asked for many things."
He groaned. "No! That was birthday week! This is actually birthday! I know what I want on the day of my birthday!" He said.
"Is that so?" I smiled. "What is it that my prince wishes for?"
"I'll tell you on my birthday." He said.
"Davi! No! I won't have time to buy it!" I whined and pouted.
