Today is a new day, Today is a new day. I keep telling myself those words. Today will be better, Today will be better. I walk into first period and take a seat behind Mr. Farts-alot.
"Is that your natural hair color?" A boy with a fun looking button down and dark hair and brown eyes asked.
"Yeah." I try to keep my cool but this was the first time someone talked to me without making me want to punch them. But I can't help but smile.
"It's Gorgeous." Wow. Okay thanks! Was not expecting that.
"Thank you." I sent him a smile.
Out of no where he grabs my hair and puts it to his.
"See, this is the color I want." He says to the girl at the desk in front of him.
"This is Damian. He's almost too gay to function." She says.
"Nice to meet you." I sent a smile.
Before we can exchange any more words, a boy with a buzz cut comes up to the girl in front of Damian.
"Nice wig, Michelle. What's it made of?" The boy says chuckling
"You mom's chest hair!" She snaps back.
Damn okay! She turned her attention back to me.
"I'm Michelle or MJ"
"Hi, I'm Y/N." I smile nervously. "Um, Do you guys know where Room G14 is?"
Damian grabs my paper print out of my schedule and starts reading my classes out loud.
"Health, Tuesday/Thursday, Room G14."
Michelle licks her lip and give Damian the side eye.
"I think that's in the back building." she says slowly.
"Oh, Oh, yeah, that's in the back building." Damian agrees.
"Yeah, we'll take you there." Michelle says smiling.
"Thanks!" This day might not be a flop.
Then the bell rings for the next class. I'm not walking through the crowded halls with Damian and Michelle.
"WATCH OUT, PLEASE! NEW MEAT COMING THROUGH!" Damian yells and I can't help but snicker. What the hell does new meat mean?
"Health. Spanish. You're taking 12-grade Calculus?!" Damian practically yells.
"Yeah." I reply simply.
"Eww, why?"
"Why not?. Wait uhhh where's the back building?" I asked looking around.
Michelle and Damian both sit on the grass. "It burned down in 1987."
"Won't we get in trouble or something?" I look at them and back at the empty field.
"Why would we get you in trouble? Aren't we your friends." MJ says looking at me.
I know its wrong to skip class but Michelle said we were friends. And I was in no position to pass up friends. I guess I'll never know what I missed on that first day of health class.
"Why didn't they just keep home-schooling you?" Michelle asked while she was doodling in some journal.
"They wanted me to get socialized." I said putting up jazz hands at the end.
"Oh, you'll get socialized, all right. A little slice like you." Damian laughs.
"What are you talking about?" I coak one of my eye brows.
