I sat in silence picking at my food as Conrad came done the stairs with a hoodie on. I glanced over at him as he was sitting down and made eye contact but immediately broke it off.

I looked over a Jeremiah who was already staring at me with a confused look but I thought it be best if not to question it.

" so.." susannah said breaking the silence. "They are hosting a debutante ball over the summer for girls going into woman hood and I was wondering if you wanted to join!"

My mum snorted and spoke up, " Susan I already told you! This isn't something belly would want to do."

" I might!" I spoke up shocking the table.

" belly! Becoming a lady." Steven laughed. " don't joke around like that cause she might actually believe it!"

" shut up Steven!" I yelled at him.

"What you going to do about it belly!" Steven challenged.

Jeremiah clearly amused spoke up "come on guys can't we just eat food in peace."

Me and Steven both have him a glare causing him to smirk.

" come on Conrad! You agree with me that belly isn't becoming a woman right." He laughed , " I mean just look at her." He pointed to me.

" what's that supposed to mean!" I said a little hurt.

" Conrad and Jere know what I mean don't you boys!"

I looked at them for reassurance but they both just stayed quiet. I glared at Steven and stood up from the table in a angry mess.

" and yes I will be going the ball!" I yelled as I was going up the stairs.

I opened my door and slammed it shut and sat on my bed. I was so done being treated like a baby! I wasn't a kid anymore.

I over heard the boys speaking about some bonfire on the beach tonight and I intended on going! If they treat me like a kid I'll just act like an adult until they have to except it.
