It had been a year and slowly Tadashi and his team were getting used to their new vessel. The newly named Hayashi 2 formerly the Williams was a old Miranda class vessel and she had proven herself a very versitale ship. But there were issues at first. For starters she was larger then the Hayashi meant for a crew of 200. She had multiple decks and far more range of systems then the older Antares class. Mantaining her with just the four of them was proving difficult as such Tadashi found himself having to hire more, thrall didn't mind the pay cut and Tadashi knew that his Andorian boyfriend was more then happy to follow him to the ends of the universe even if they went broke. But with a ship this size he needed a crew the first step was hiring a engineer someone who could keep up with the Hayashis engines. And he needed a second who would work with that engineer. If they could keep the ship together that's all Tadashi needed
They had already brought on Zachary Ellis and he seemed sketchy. He claimed he was a former engineer at utopia and knew alot about older federation ships so far he didn't seem to know up from down but he seemed good enough with a weapon which concerned Tadashi and Thrall. They were currently heading towards a small outpost in the Andorian sector to meet the newest member of their crew a Bolian named Xall whom Vanessa vouched for as a compotent engineer. And he wasn't asking for alot in pay which was a plus Xall only had one condition that his wife accompany them. She was a trained medic and Tadashi wasn't going to say no to a medic not after the hell they went through
So all on all they now had a crew of 7 it was a start
"You know Tadashi Its not really your thing but with a ship like this we could take on some cargo contracts. We honestly aren't making enough from salvage to pay 7 people. Just a thought" Vanessa spoke. Tadashi didn't want to admit it but she had a point. He needed a larger crew to mantain this ship larger crew meant more money which they weren't getting by on space debris.
"Well while we pick up Xall and his wife Vanessa you can reach out to Andorian commerce and see if they could use a cargoship and fuck never mind we gotta apply to the federation cargo freighters union and apply for various permits before we can operate as a cargo vessel... You realize how much paperwork that is right? And the fees?" He groaned leaning back on his chair
"We could always try to get with the Ferengi?" Thrall suggested "Thrall you realize what ever the federation charges in fees the Ferengi will do 6x that amkoujt right?" tadashi replied
"There's always bajor they're still independent right now though are supposed to vote again on federation membership if we apply to be apart of their cargo runs we'll get ushered into the federation cargo union automatically if they join. Deep space nine is always packed with activity and we could see trips into the gamma quadrant as well." Vanessa suggested
"V you're a genius of course bajor! They're a hub of freight and exports. That ought to be enough to bring in payroll.. ok thrall take Sato and start inspecting the cargo bays toss out anything that ain't worth anything. Let's make this ship look appealing for the Bajorans." Tadashi said standing up. "I'm gonna go to my quarters see if I can't contact the Bajoran commerce ministry and see what guidelines and requirements they need from us"
